After a tumultuous genesis, weather and pandemic-related delays, and several fits and starts, the first-ever holiday-themed Mihmiverse special has officially arrived on Vimeo, DVD, and Blu-Ray!
Designed to be a love letter to retro holiday TV specials like 1965's "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and 1966's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and pay direct homage to 1964's sci-fi "cheesefest" "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians," "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" also serves as a de facto mini-sequel to the 2015 fan-favorite film, "Danny Johnson Saves the World," and as a "side adventure" for the Phantom Lake Kids gang!
In this Mihmiverse mini-movie, little alien Steve has gone missing but, luckily, his loyal sidekick (and nephew) Stu knows EXACTLY what to do to find someone who can help locate his uncle: get human help! Unfortunately, Stu has no idea what a human is! BUT he knows he can find out by locating Steve's old friend, Danny Johnson—or the next best thing, Danny's sister Evelyn! With Evelyn's help, Stu embarks on a wild adventure that takes him from outer space to the North Pole and several exotic points in between to do battle with an old nemesis, meet up with one of the most legendary holiday characters on Earth, and celebrate the joys of the season!
"The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" stars Alice Mihm as Evelyn Johnson, Elliott Mihm as Stu, Stephanie Mihm as an old adversary, and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm as Santa Claus!
The cast and crew would like to personally thank each and every person who contributed to this project! We are all ecstatic that this extra bit of cinematic-Mihmiverse-goodness is available for everyone to enjoy and hope it becomes a part of your yearly holiday traditions!
In just 24 short hours, "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" will arrive! We hope you watch it (as many times as possible) with your family, love it, tell everyone you know about it, and make it a recurring part of your yearly holiday celebrations! We CANNOT wait for everyone to see it!
If you'd like to order a copy on DVD and/or Blu-Ray, go HERE!
If you contributed to the project, watch your mailbox! Contributor certificates and contributor pre-ordered DVDs & Blu-Rays will be going out in this week's mail!

Back by popular demand, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has designed a brand new, full-sized (8.5" x 11"), 12-month wall calendar for 2022!
This year's theme is "Visit the Mihmiverse," wherein each month will include a different retro-styled, old-school travel poster for the many recognizable locations featured in the films of Christopher R. Mihm (and the monsters associated with them) like The Wisawa Caves, Phantom Lake, New Berlin, and more! AND, as always, every calendar will be individually numbered and personally signed by Mr. Mihm himself!
As in previous years, this Mihmiverse-inspired wall calendar will be released in EXTREMELY limited quantities (less than 50 will be produced) and, once they're gone, NEVER reprinted!
After MANY years, the entire catalog of Mihmiverse films is FINALLY once again available on DVD! Given how many times we've received messages asking when we'd finally be re-stocking certain titles, we know how excited a lot of folks who, upon hearing this news, are going to be!
Also, it should be noted, that the "log jam" at the manufacturing company appears to have been cleared AND, as a result, we have received all of our copies of "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" on DVD and Blu-Ray—which means that all pre-orders and contributor copies WILL ship out on or around the release date of the special (November 24th)!
This month, you'll find the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, This Month in Mihmiverse History, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (1959's "Missile to the Moon"), and much, much more!
Also, the November episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast has arrived! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.
This month, host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm speaks from a hotel room in Dallas at All-Con '21 and discusses "getting back out there," the current state of the Mihmiverse, and what fans can expect from the coming months!
Also included: The next installment in the new audiocast segment, "An Oral History of the Mihmiverse!"

The Mihmiverse now has it's very own card game!
As a "Pandemic Project", Mihmiverse super-fan Barry Perkins (who appeared as a townsperson in "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" and designed & built the St. Euphoria Cemetery seen in the film), with the assistance of the rest of the Perkins clan, has created a card game based on the films of Christopher R. Mihm: "The Last Mihm Standing!"
The game is made up of 71 cards inspired by all 17 films (and one musical), tokens for keeping track of certain events, an instruction book, and a die (because sometimes it's better to be lucky than good). Players take turns using cards to do things like releasing a giant spider to attack their opponents, asking "Basement Jesus" to watch over them, or just hide out in an admittedly-familiar looking forest.
It's a Battle Royale where you win by being the only person not to lose—although, if you're clever enough, you might find a loophole around that! Knowledge of the Mihmiverse is not needed to play the game, but the cards are clearly written by a fan for the fans.
This game has been professionally manufactured and is now available in EXTREMELY limited quantities! Get yours NOW while supplies last!
ALSO, continue the tradition by adding some retro-monster-cheer to your decorations with the sixth annual Mihmverse holiday ornament!
This year's exclusive ornament is based on one of the best of Mihmiverse Master Monster Maker Mitch Gonzales' greatest creations, the hunter robot from "Danny Johnson Saves the World!"
Because stock is limited to no more than 25 ornaments, we highly recommend ordering NOW to ensure shipment in time for the holidays—AND to make sure you get one, because once they're sold out...no more will be made—EVER!
To order your 2021 Mihmiverse holiday ornament, go HERE!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Stay safe! Have fun! Watch Mihmiverse movies!
Thursday, October 21, 2021
Even though writer/director Christopher R. Mihm tried to AVOID cutting a trailer for the forthcoming "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special," Vimeo actually required it to be able to post the title on their service. Therefore, Mr. Mihm created the following trailer—and we're REALLY glad he did! Enjoy!
We don't know about you, but this just has us that more excited for the special's release! Thanksgiving can't come fast enough!
DVDs and Blu-Rays—which are now available for pre-order—will ship as soon as we receive them (unfortunately they are delayed due to manufacturing and supply chain issues)!
Both versions will include a high-quality digital transfer of the film, a blooper reel, multiple photo galleries, feature-length commentaries with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, actor Alice Mihm, and Stu the Alien! Also, the Blu-Ray will include the full-length 2015 Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves the World!"
IMPORTANT! Due to manufacturing and supply-chain delays, there exists the real possibility that DVDs & Blu-Rays of "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" may NOT be available on the same date as the film's digital release. That said, we will mail pre-orders and contributor swag out as SOON as we receive our stock! We apologize for these delays, but the issue is ultimately out of our hands! Still, the best way to guarantee you receive a copy as soon as humanly possible is to pre-order now!
The first-ever holiday special will debut on Wednesday, November 24th at Vimeo!
According to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, a handful of special effects shots still need to be filmed, but no actors are required from this point forward!
Congratulations to the cast and crew!
DON'T FORGET! Until the film is 100% edited (which will be at least several months from now), you can STILLcontribute to the production and get your name in the end credits!
This month, you'll find the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, This Month in Mihmiverse History, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (1957's "The Monolith Monsters"), and much, much more!
Also, the latest episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is here for your listening pleasure! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.
Also included: The next installment in the new audiocast segment, "An Oral History of the Mihmiverse," episode #110 of Atomic Tales, a monthly short story from the author of "The Canoe Cops vs. The Mummy," Stephen D. Sullivan, and more jokes from Dr. Bob Tesla of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob!

As we are putting the finishing touches on the October Mihmiverse Monthly newsletter, we FINALLY found time to archive all the news from 2020... only TEN MONTHS late! Still, as they say, better late than never!
The Mihmiverse would like to take a moment to publicly acknowledge and mourn today's passing of Graham Garfield Barnard, the creative force behind The Schlocky Horror Picture Show, an irreverent Australian television program hosted by a snarky skeleton named Nigel Honeybone. Because of Mr. Barnard's generosity in prominently featuring the films of Christopher R. Mihm on his show, it helped to create a rather voracious group of Australian Mihmiverse fans who, to this day, continue to support the films and "spread the good word" internationally. Mr. Barnard was always kind to a fault, supportive-as-hell, hilarious, and spot on with his wry observations, particularly when taking well-deserved potshots at the Mihmiverse!
AND, without the Schlocky Horror Picture Show, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm would never have met Norman Yeend, the insanely talented artist behind all the stop-motion creatures featured in several films, most notably the Plutonian brain creature in "The Wall People" and Meat in "Danny Johnson Saves the World."
All of the Mihmiverse's thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Barnard's loved ones during this difficult time. We hope, however, they achieve some measure of comfort knowing how much he will be missed and fondly remembered by friends and fans across the world. RIP and Godspeed, kind sir!

For something a little different, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm recently went on the "I Love That Movie!" podcast to discuss one of his favorite (non-cheesy-monster) movies, the first film Tom Hanks wrote & directed, 2006's "That Thing You Do!"
The "back-to-school" issue of the Mihmiverse Monthly newsletter is now available for your reading pleasure!
This month, you'll find the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, This Month in Mihmiverse History, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (1958's "High School Hellcats"), and much, much more!

Contributor credits for the now-complete "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" are officially closed! After a rocky start and subsequent postponement due to the pandemic, it's a bit of a small miracle the project is finally DONE—and it's due in no small part to the generosity of those who contributed to make it possible! From the bottoms of the hearts of everyone involved in bringing the Mihmiverse to life: THANK YOU!
Yesterday marked the end of principal photography for half the cast of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended!" Elliott Mihm (Danny), Daniel Mihm (Chip), Alice Mihm (Evelyn), and Caleb Frank (Billy Blue) have completed their parts, with only David Mihm (Butch), Michael Kaiser, and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm still having a scene or two (and some special effects) left!
Don't forget to contribute to the film to see your name in the end credits! To do so, go HERE!
This month, you'll find the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (1958's "The Screaming Skull"), and much, much more!

Mihm discusses why human connection is more meaningful in person (and why the internet sucks), talks about his experiences at a recent screening of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion," and catches the audience up on the status of all the Mihmiverse projects currently in production!
Also included: The next installment in the new audiocast segment, "An Oral History of the Mihmiverse," a trio of jokes from Dr. Bob Tesla of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob, and a return of Atomic Tales, a monthly short story from the author of "The Canoe Cops vs. The Mummy," Stephen D. Sullivan!

Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm recently appeared on the Monster Movie Happy Hour to discuss the Mihmiverse! Check it out below!
According to their website, the Monster Movie Happy Hour crew (Dave Geister, Mary Challman, and Scott Chesebrough) are three folks from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, sharing life's greatest gifts: cocktails & horror films! Their podcast is an entertaining look into classic, modern, and indie horror films with a fun "cocktail hour" vibe! Beyond checking out this latest Mihmiverse-centric episode, we encourage everyone to visit their website and listen to EVERY EPISODE!
This month, you'll find the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (1958's "Attack of the 50-Ft. Woman"), and much, much more!
Also, the July of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast has arrived! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.
This month, host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm discusses the release of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," updates the status of current projects, and frets about when and where the Mihmiverse may ultimately end!

After its release was delayed over a YEAR due to the pandemic, the film is now available for your viewing pleasure at Vimeo!
As the saying goes, "Good things come to those who wait," and, now that the long-postponed movie is out, we can say with confidence that good things have definitely come after a very long torturous wait!
From now until September, the film is exclusively available to rent on the Mihmiverse Vimeo VOD portal. It it scheduled to be released on DVD & Blu-Ray on September 3rd and can be pre-ordered HERE. Should COVID numbers continue their current downward trend and it becomes absolutely safe to do so, the plan is to hold a live, in-theater Phantom Lake Kids event with a double-feature of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" and "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" in late-September/early-October!
We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience with this film and its release. Obviously, we would have preferred to get it out last year as originally intended, but it was very much out of our hands! Still, we're grateful to be able to finally share all the hard work that went into "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us!"
REMEMBER, when you watch the Phantom Lake Kids movies, despite the order in which they were released, this new film comes BEFORE "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" in the actual in-universe chronology!
Given that the script is reportedly about "oversized freaks of nature," this appears to be solid proof. Plus, given the terrified look on Billy Blue's (Caleb Frank) face, seems the gang is in for a world of ridiculously over-the-top giant monster fun!
Remember, the Mihmiverse is made possible only through the generosity of fans like you! If you want to see the 'verse continue into the distant future, please contribute to this new film (and get your name in the end credits!) by going HERE!
Pre-order now and be one of the first ANYWHERE to see the latest film! Are you excited yet? WE ARE!

We are excited to report that as of TODAY, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has finished his "rough draft" edit of "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special!"
Though it will require a thorough "tweaking" and the addition of opening & closing credits, this is a HUGE step in the process of creating the Mihmiverse. With over five months to go before its planned release date, reaching this milestone means that very little should stand in the way of getting it out on time!
Don't forget! Until Mr. Mihm signs off on a final edit, you can STILLcontribute to the special and get a name in the end credits. Plus, with the plan being to release it in time for this year's holiday season, we can't think of a better, more unique gift than your loved ones' names in the end credits of a movie!
This month, you'll find the official announcement of the digital premiere of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," plus the most up-to-the-minute Mihmiverse-related news, The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook, the Mihmiverse Fan Focus, another classic movie of the month (Bert I. Gordon's 1957 giant grasshopper flick, "Beginning of the End"), and much, much more!
Also, the latest episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast has arrived! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.

Also, if you paid for advance tickets to the original "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" world premiere last year, you'd be able to use those tickets to either get free access codes to watch it on Vimeo, redeem them for DVDs or Blu-Rays, hold on to them to attend the double-feature live event later this year, and/or a combination of all three based on how many tickets you purchased.
Want to contribute to this film to help ensure its completion? Do you wish to see YOUR NAME in the end credits? All you have to do is go HERE and you can make that wish come true!

It is with sadness that we must announce that writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been forced to "pull the plug" on his unfinished film, "That Which Lurks in the Dark."
Originally slated to go before cameras in early 2019, scheduling proved to be an unsolvable puzzle and, as a result, the "Mihmiverse machine" had to be refocused toward making "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us." Then, in early 2020, production of "That Which Lurks in the Dark" found itself back on track but, after shooting a full third of the film, the COVID-19 pandemic swooped in and shut it down. In addition, this also led to the unfortunate postponement of the release of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us"—but the unexpected blessing of "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion!"
With the coronavirus pandemic still continuing into the foreseeable future, Mr. Mihm has concluded that, since the cast and crew live directly within the "Saint Euphoria bubble," the only safe Mihmiverse project to produce at this time is another Phantom Lake Kids film. Because of this, the absolute earliest "That Which Lurks in the Dark" could return to full production would be next year and would have to start shooting from scratch to ensure consistency. Thus, with all the unknowns concerning the project, it was deemed appropriate to cancel the film (FOR NOW) and offer refunds to all contributors.
As of this date, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has reached out to every person who contributed to the production. If you contributed, but have not received an email or Facebook message from Mr. Mihm, please contact us using the contact page on this website so everything can be squared away between you and the production!
Lastly, for as disappointing as this news is, it's good to know that the Mihmiverse will continue moving forward. We've been assured that Mr. Mihm still loves the script for "That Which Lurks in the Dark" and, once it is safe again to revisit it, he will take another look. After all, as they say, third time's the charm, right?
Stay safe everyone!

We are excited to announce that, aside from a handful of special effect shots, principal photography of "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" is officially finished! This milestone is of particular significance because the project was originally postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and, as a result, the producers once feared it would need to be abandoned completely!
Subsequently, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been diligently editing footage during the filming phase and, according to him, is already halfway done with the special. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, he anticipates it will be ready for release later this year—just in time for the holiday season!
Congrats to the cast and crew!
Remember, the biggest source of funding for the Mihmiverse is contributions from folks like yourself! Even though "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" has entered the post-production stage, we STILL need help to finish it! If you have the means and would like to help "keep the lights on" here at Saint Euphoria Studios, please go HERE to contribute and get your name in the end credits!
Lastly, due to the Easter holiday weekend, the April Mihmiverse Monthly newsletter and audiocast will be delayed into early next week! We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!

NEWSFLASH!
Though principal photography of "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" was scheduled to be completed in less than 24 hours, the production was forced to be put on hold after one of its stars locked himself in his trailer and continues to refuse to work until a list of demands is met!
According to a message passed on to the production by his manager, Stu says he will consider returning to the set if—and ONLY if—he is granted "above-the-title billing," the craft service table is consistently stocked with pretzels and Hostess-brand "Donettes" (mini-chocolate donuts), and his trailer is upgraded from its current form (a cardboard box) to a sturdier, more spacious Rubbermaid container.
When reached for comment, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm responded by saying, "I thought it'd be easier to work with puppets. Apparently, I was wrong."

Amazon alert! The aggregate star-rating for "Guns of the Apocalypse" has fallen below 3 stars on Amazon Prime, which means there's a very good chance it'll be pulled from their service soon!
If you have the time and genuinely like the movie, please watch it on Amazon Prime (IT'S VERY IMPORTANT YOU WATCH THE ENTIRE THING!) and give it a star rating! If we can get it back into the 3-star range, it may help keep it around!

The final scene left to film for "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" requires a cave, so what do the Phantom Lake Kids do? Build one!
Check out the photo below for proof!
We realize it doesn't look much like a cave YET but, given enough time and effort, it will!
Remember, the Mihmiverse is only possible because of contributions made by fans like yourself! If you'd like to see your name in the end credits (and help Saint Euphoria Pictures stay alive), we'd GREATLY appreciate your generosity!
On this special day in 2006, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" held its world premiere at the Heights Theater to a near-sold-out crowd. As soon as it was released, the film began to receive positive press and, to this day, still earns great reviews and remains a perennial favorite. It continues to screen all over the world and has appeared in countless film festivals and earned numerous awards.
Dubbed "the little movie that could," "The Monster of Phantom Lake" is where the Mihmiverse officially began, introducing the ever-growing fan base to such staples as the Jackson family, "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'," the Canoe Cops, the "flashlight thing," and much, much more!
Just remember, without "The Monster of Phantom Lake," we would never have been introduced to this enduring and ever-expanding universe! So, don't forget to tell everyone you know "HAPPY MONSTER DAY" and encourage them to check out the entire Mihmiverse catalog!

After a few fits and starts due to the ongoing pandemic, we are excited that this fun little Mihmiverse side-project is FINALLY coming to fruition! AND, we are BEYOND thrilled to see the "Steve People" (as introduced in 2015's "Danny Johnson Saves the World") back in action!
As you can see from the photo, Steve's nephew Stu is being played by Elliott Mihm (the actor best known for playing Danny Johnson in half the Mihmiverse film catalog), and Alice Mihm (Elliott's younger sister) is returning as her best known character: Evelyn Johnson.
Filming the special is slated to continue through the end of March. Should everything stay on schedule, it will be complete just in time to "dive head-first" into pre-production of the NEXT Mihmiverse film, "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day The Earth Abruptly Almost Ended!"
"The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" DVDs and Blu-Rays have arrived and, as a result, ALL pre-orders and contributor certificates are packaged up and going out in tomorrow's mail!

The coronavirus pandemic continues to rage across the world and, as a result, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been inspired to expand the catalog of Phantom Lake Kids movies into the Mihmiverse's first-ever trilogy! And, with Mr. Mihm having finished the script for this new monster-filled adventure, the film is officially going forward, with cast and crew already in place and pre-production ALREADY underway!
In "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day The Earth Abruptly Almost Ended," Phantom Lake County is shaken by inexplicable earthquakes emanating from a local system of caves and is being overrun by grossly mutated creatures of unusual size—a phenomenon that may point to the return of a long-since-forgotten menace! Thankfully, the Phantom Lake Kids (Danny & Evelyn Johnson and their friends Billy Blue, Butch, and Chip) are "on the job" and determined to solve the real mystery: what's the deal with Butch's magic hat?
If you'd like to help make this film possible, you can now contribute to the production and get your name in the end credits!
According to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, he finished this draft no less than ten minutes before we posted this photo!
Stay tuned!
