Even though the movie is debuting at Vimeo next Wednesday, it unfortunately will not be available on physical media formats until early 2021. We realize premiering a Mihmiverse film without a corresponding day-and-date physical media release is a departure from previous releases but, given the current state of the world, this is just how it had to be! Also, with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm wanting to keep his "one-movie-a-year" streak alive, going with a digital-only release was necessary to get the film out before the end of the year!
On a positive note, with the film complete and the premiere process ready to go, Mr. Mihm finds himself freed up to focus and work hard on the authoring process for the film's DVD & Blu-Ray!
Both versions will include a high-quality digital transfer of the film, a blooper reel, multiple photo galleries, interviews with the cast, feature-length commentary with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and more!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Finally, we can reveal the REAL reason why the only films writer/director Christopher R. Mihm makes anymore are Phantom Lake Kids movies...
For this new design, writer/director Christoph&##101;r R. Mihm continues with the retro, minimalistic approach he similarly took with poster art for his last few films. The result is a design with a cool and dark "look and feel" that hints at something sinister, but also prominently promises "invisible invaders vs. wacky whippersnappers!"
As with the last (though still unreleased) Phantom Lake Kids movie, the film's young stars are featured prominently in the design.
Now that the poster is complete, we hope to make it be available for purchase in our online storeSOON!
In other "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" news, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has informed us that he has 100% completed the film and is now diligently working on making sure everything is in place for a December 23rd digital release!
More details regarding this first-ever Mihmiverse digital world premiere will be coming soon, as will, we assume, a trailer!

It is with deep sadness that we must announce the sudden and unexpected loss of the founder and spiritual center of the "Dallas-Fort Worth Fans of the Films of Christopher R. Mihm," Michael Cross.
Michael was an amazing, kind, gentle, uplifting, unbelievably generous human being who brought so many people together. If our vast connections are a spider web, he was the spider...which I say only because he would have gotten a kick out of it, particularly knowing I knew how much he hated spiders!
He encouraged everyone to never give up on their passions, and loved nothing more than bringing people together, particularly when it meant broadening the reach of artists like myself. He was usually the first to contribute to every Mihmiverse production, and was constantly throwing money at me to help keep the movies coming! Because of that and his tireless promotion of my films, my cinematic career would be a shadow of what it is without him. In all honesty, it will never be possible to quantify what he did to help advance my work.
All of that aside, he was one of my best friends, a brother-in-arms, and a father figure. I will never stop missing him and the world now suffers from a distinctly empty hole that will never be adequately filled. His memory was a blessing and as of right now, I am completely unsure how to process his passing. I loved him and I love you all. Life is short and nothing is guaranteed. Be well. Stay safe and please continue to take care of each other.

Mihm continues to edit, edit, edit in the hopes of finishing "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" in time to release it this holiday season, we realize that, as a result (plus all the other crazy things happening in the world right now), we haven't been updating the news as much as we should! Granted, nothing in the Mihmiverse has really HAPPENED other than Mr. Mihm working diligently to complete the new film!
To rectify this, we not only have a silly, behind-the-scenes "accidental still" from the new movie, we have a BRAND NEW sale going on now through next Tuesday! We acknowledge that streaming is far more convenient than having a bunch of discs lying around. Still, we thought it'd be instructive to share with you all just how bad it can be for content providers.
The Mihmiverse currently has 12 films (of 15, three were dropped without explanation) on the Amazon Prime streaming platform. In ONLY the United States and United Kingdom, in the month of June (which is always a SLOW month because it's summertime), those 12 films were streamed for a total of 620,850 minutes. The average length of a Mihmiverse film is 82 minutes. When you do the math on this, that means ON AVERAGE, the films of Christopher R. Mihm were watched over 7500 times on Amazon in June 2020. Given that many are shorter in length, it is possible they were watched several hundred more times during that same period. With the most popular being "The Giant Spider" at 71 minutes, this is entirely possible.
Again, June is a traditionally slow month, and, regardless of the COVID-19 situation, it has tracked similarly to previous years. So, given all of those seemingly impressive numbers, how much would you guess Amazon paid Saint Euphoria for all minutes streamed? The rather sad answer is $196.48. Needless to say, this is not a sustainable practice for small creators like writer/director Christopher R. Mihm. AND, with almost every other platform unwilling to even talk to low-budget indie creators without a middle man (who would generally take more than 50% of those paltry earnings), it gets even more dire.
Needless to say, if you like someone's work, make sure to support them however you can. Spread the word. Every watching eyeball helps. They may produce only pennies, but pennies do add up! Also, buy physical media because the profit margins are much higher. #32;If you don't need it, you can always donate to libraries for others to experience. Buy related merchandise like posters, collectibles, and the like. Buy DIRECT from the creator. Every little bit helps!

We've received a handful of messages recently and, due to the amount and the fact that they're all about the same subject, we think it's probably best to update everyone about the situation!
With the postponement of the "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" world premiere, the release date for any and all DVD, Blu-Ray, and/or digital releases of the film have ALSO been postponed. Once we are able to hold a physical world premiere, the movie will be made available in all formats, sent out to every contributor, and every pre-order will be filled!
We know the wait is difficult and, given how excited everyone involved in the production is to get the film out there, doubly so at "Saint Euphoria Central!" As of this moment, we are shooting to hold the world premiere in late September or early October. However, given that the current situation is constantly in flux, nothing is currently set in stone and the release date may again be pushed back.
We're sorry for the inconvenience BUT, we assure you the wait will be worth it! Stay tuned!

In light of everything going on in the world right now, we are (not surprisingly) unable to move forward with the April 29th world premiere of the next great Mihmiverse film, "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us." In response, we are rescheduling the event to late September or early October. Given the vast array of uncertainties at present, we can't be any more specific than that. If you're someone who purchased an advance ticket(s) to the event, please contact us at your earliest convenience to discuss what you would like to do with your ticket(s)!
Right now, advance ticket holders have a few options:
If you're still planning to attend the rescheduled event, your seat is safe and belongs to you—simply do nothing and you'll be sent a collector's ticket(s) to get in! Tickets will be mailed closer to the actual event date.
If you'd like to contribute the money you paid for the ticket(s) to a different Mihmiverse project and receive contributor credit(s), there are currently three in production:

"The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" is 100% complete and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm is very excited to release it. Unfortunately, given current conditions, we'll just need to be patient. Based on what we've seen, we're sure it'll absolutely be worth the wait!

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that, given the current situation, we are temporarily suspending production of "That Which Lurks in the Dark" and "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special." Production on both will resume once things return to something resembling normalcy.
Because we are "ahead of the curve" on shooting "That Which Lurks in the Dark" and never intended to release the film before NEXT YEAR, this delay will not affect its release date. However, with what will now be a severely shortened production window, "The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" must be pushed to 2021 (instead of 2020 as we'd hoped). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and safety of the actors and crew is paramount.
As for "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us," we have been in contact with the theater about rescheduling the premiere. Once we have a new release date, we will announce it and then contact all current ticket holders! Don't worry, if you bought tickets and want to (and still can) attend, you'll have a seat!
In the meantime, if there's one painless thing you can do to help keep the Mihmiverse alive, it's to stream the films on AMAZON PRIME. All streams earn a couple cents an hour and, if everyone watches them specifically on Amazon, the Mihmiverse can continue to pull in a little money to help offset what is going to be lost with the cancellation of multiple events we had scheduled over the next several months. And, for as great as the new Mihmiverse Roku channel is, it currently DOES NOT generate ANY revenue. That doesn't mean you CAN'T watch it, because every minute streamed helps us down the line. Still, if you have the choice right now, Amazon is the best bet and most helpful to us!

On this special day in 2006, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" held its world premiere at the Heights Theater to a near-sold-out crowd. As soon as it was released, the film began to receive positive press and, to this day, still earns great reviews and remains a perennial favorite. It continues to screen all over the world and has appeared in countless film festivals and earned numerous awards.
Dubbed "the little movie that could," "The Monster of Phantom Lake" is where the Mihmiverse officially began, introducing the ever-growing fan base to such staples as the Jackson family, "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'," the Canoe Cops, the "flashlight thing," and much, much more!
Just remember, without "The Monster of Phantom Lake," we would never have been introduced to this enduring and ever-expanding universe! So, don't forget to tell everyone you know "HAPPY MONSTER DAY" and encourage them to check out the entire Mihmiverse catalog!

New Mihmiverse trading cards have arrived!
To celebrate the 15-year anniversary of the beginnings of the Mihmiverse ("The Monster of Phantom Lake" was written and filmed in 2005), we proudly announce the release of the second set of Mihmiverse trading cards: The Art of the Mihimverse!
This series of trading cards consists of 24 cards (23 art cards, one cover/checklist) and were personally designed by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm. All orders will be shipped in a protective, hard-plastic case specifically designed to keep your cards in mint condition!
This high-quality collectible comes on the heels of the The Monsters of the Mihmiverse trading card set, which recently released its final rare card (found in the 2019 Mihmiverse Mystery Box). With this new set, you'll find an image of a different piece of Mihmiverse art on the front of each card, with a description of the movie with which it is associated on the back!
These sets will be available for an EXTREMELY limited time and in RIDICULOUSLY small quantities. AND, certain ultra-rare cards will begin popping up at events and only be available AT THAT EVENT. The first The Art of the Mihmiverse rare card is slated to be found at the forthcoming "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us" world premiere!

In other exciting news, principal photography of the next NEXT film, "That Which Lurks in the Dark," has FINALLY begun!
This past Saturday evening, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm gathered his small crew and actors Tyler Haines (reprising the role of Agar, who was introduced in 2017's "Demon with the Atomic Brain") and Mihmiverse newcomer Jesse Griffith to shoot a pair of scenes for the film. Check out the photo below for proof!
The official start of active production comes as a welcome relief after the project was previously put on hold to make way for the just completed "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us." Also, production was delayed several times recently due to weather issues and illness! Luckily, everything is back on track and, should everything continue to stay as such, Mr. Mihm plans to release the film in Spring of next year!
