"The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" recently received a great write-up in the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram!

The article discusses the musical stage adaptation of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's first film and, as you can see from the photo (taken directly from the article), it seems that should the project reach its Kickstarter goal, Mike Cook will not only be directing the production, he'll be reprising his iconic role of Gustav the Canoe Cop! If that's not reason enough to support the Kickstarter campaign, we don't know what is!

The crowd-funding campaign expires on the 10th of January and has almost reached its first goal of $2,500! If you're as excited as we are about this project, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND donating to the campaign before it's too late!

In the meantime, please contribute to the production of the film, get your name in the end credits and receive a bunch of cool swag! Click here to contribute!

"The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" is coming!

Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and composer/lyricist Adam Boll have completed their work on the musical stage adaptation of the first Mihmiverse film—and they are ready to bring it to the masses! To help the play go from just an idea to a full-blown reality, the pair have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds to mount the first-ever live production!

The minimum goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to reach $2,500, which would allow the play to be held somewhere (anywhere)! The secondary goal of $6,000 would make it possible to perform the show at the historic Mabel Tainter Center in Menomonie, WI (located roughly an hour outside of Minneapolis/St. Paul). The ultimate goal, however, is to reach $12,000, which will allow the production to debut at the Mabel Tainter Center AND record and release a DVD of the show and an original cast recording!

If you are a fan of the original "The Monster of Phantom Lake," and, like most folks, imagine it can only be enhanced by adding singing and dancing, please consider contributing to the Kickstarter campaign and help make it happen!

If you're still not convinced, check out the video below and then visit Kickstarter!

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

So...October is always a very busy month in the Mihmiverse. Events pile up. People are pulled in many different directions. Sadly, this sometimes leads to things falling by the wayside...which, unfortunately, explains what happened to this month's Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast...which is to say...there will be no October episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast.

Hosts Rhuby 'n' Hater and perma-guest writer/director Christopher R. Mihm want to extend their most sincere apologies to the fans of the show. As Mr. Mihm relayed to us, "things got crazy" and they ran out of time to get an episode together. One only look at the events page to understand EXACTLY what he means by "things got crazy."

We've been reassured that, thankfully, there will be an episode in November. Luckily, with episodes being released around the 15th of each month, that means we really won't have to wait very long to get the next one!

Thursday, October 15, 2015

With October always being a time of great joy and busy madness in the Mihmiverse, we must sadly report that this month's Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast will be LATE. We do not have an exact date for its arrival BUT, we will post it here as soon as it arrives!

In the meantime, this coming weekend is CHOCK FULL of fun Mihmiverse events including screenings of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" at the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt in Mukwonago, WI (hosted by the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, and monster-of-all-trades Michael Kaiser) and ValleyCon in Fargo, ND (hosted by Mihmiverse regular, James Norgard).

ALSO, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will be manning a Mihmiverse merchandise table at Dallas Comic Con Fan Days in Irving, TX. Make sure to stop on by, buy some stuff, get it signed by Mr. Mihm himself and ask him tons of questions!

The Mihmiverse has been getting some fun and interesting attention in the press lately!

First, longtime fan Mario Giguère, curator of the French Canadian horror website Club Des Monstres has posted a page dedicated solely to the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm! On this page you'll find a synopsis and short review (most of them quite positive) of all ten of the films of the Mihmiverse. The only catch, though, is that the entire page is in French. If you can speak (or at the very least, read) the language, we highly recommend checking it out!

Lastly, photographer Christi Williams of Grinkie Girls Photography, who has worked extensively with the Mihmiverse, was recently profiled in the Twin Cities Arts Reader. We highly recommend checking out the article because true fans of the Mihmiverse will very quickly recognize a few "faces" in the copy! To read the article, click HERE!

The October issue of the Mihmiverse Monthly has arrived!

Also, the latest episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is now available! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.

This month, host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm makes a very cool announcement, discusses the "next ten years" of the Mihmiverse and what we, the fans, can expect to see! He also waxes poetically about what "taking a break" from filmmaking did to his "creative perspective."

Also included: another "bad" joke from Dr. Bob Tesla of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob and a dramatic reading of "Incident at the Causeway," the eighth chapter in the "Canoe Cops Vs. The Mummy" serial written by Stephen D. Sullivan!

HOW COOL IS THIS?

The photo at right is an actual tattoo that currently resides on the leg of Mihmiverse fan club member Lucy Grogg!

The tattoo was created for and tattooed onto Ms. Grogg's calf by the very talented Mike Shultz of Ink Therapy Tattoo in Indianapolis, IN. Needless to say, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and Mihmiverse Master Monster Maker Mitch Gonzales (who designed and created the Moon Zombie monsters) were both floored by this amazing piece of body art and Ms. Grogg's loyalty to the Mihmiverse!

As the first person known to get a Mihmiverse-related tattoo, Ms. Grogg is now entitled to one free copy of each Mihmiverse film on DVD (or whatever format comes next) FOR LIFE.

Congratulations, Lucy! AND, thank you for immortalizing one of the coolest Mihmiverse monsters on your body!

Should you decide to tattoo a Mihmiverse-related image (or quote) on your body, please send us a photo and you, too, will be granted free stuff for life!

Also, if you were wondering which fanclub faction Ms. Grogg is a member of...the MOON ZOMBIES, of course! Read Ms. Grogg's interview in the August issue of the Mihmiverse Monthly by clicking HERE!

The latest episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast is here!

In addition to perma-guest writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, pin-up photographer (and official photographer of the Mihmiverse) Christi Williams of Grinkie Girls Photography soaks up the heat and chats at length about her experiences in the glamorous "pin-up trenches."

Also included: the first new "bad poem" from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm in YEARS!

ALSO, today marks the 13th birthday of Elliott Mihm, the young actor who played the title character in the recently released "Danny Johnson Saves The World!" Since officially becoming an teenager is a "pretty big deal" AND since longtime Mihmivites have watched young master Elliott grow up over the last decade, we figured it was worth mentioning! (In the interest of full disclosure, Elliott is also the oldest son of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm—call it nepotism if you must, but Elliott is a very talented actor in his own right who more than carries the latest Mihmiverse film!)

Happy birthday, Danny Johnson!

The August episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast is has arrived!

Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast hosts Rhuby 'n' Hater are on the move!

This month, the show was recorded on the outskirts of the Twin Cities as the crew set up in the backyard of Chez Sjerven, the lovely new home of Daniel R. and Theresa Sjerven. Daniel, of course, is a name familiar to every Mihmivite as he has appeared in several Mihmiverse films over the years, most famously portraying newspaperman Howard Johnson, the hero who (spoilers!) thwarts "The Giant Spider."

Also included: writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, and several stars of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" put in appearances AND, Mr. Sjerven, not having been a guest since 2012, takes it upon himself to bring back some of the "old standards," including a bad poem! For many years, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been a big fan of the sport of curling, a game that dates back to medieval times and is often referred to as "chess on ice." Because of his love of the sport, he has decided to go from spectator to participant—by forming his own honest-to-goodness team: THE ROCK MONSTERS, the official curling team of the Mihmiverse!

Members of the team include Mr. Mihm himself, the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, monster-of-all-trades Michael Kaiser and Mark Haider, co-host of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast. The team currently plays in a weekly league at the Four Seasons Curling Club at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, MN (an official U.S. Olympic training site)!

In honor of the formation of the Rock Monsters, we are offering all Mihmivites a chance to become a "team booster" and receive an official team T-shirt, complete with their name (or a name of their choosing) on the back! The front of the shirt will contain the image seen here (designed by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself) and on the back will be displayed the official logo of Saint Euphoria Pictures/All for George Productions (the red Phantom Lake monster handprint seen in the lower right corner of this website) plus a list of all team boosters—including YOURS if you sign up RIGHT NOW!

All contributions are $25 per name (plus $5 shipping and handling) and, as always, shipping is FREE for all members of the fan club! This offer will only be available for a limited time because the shirts will be printed (and worn by the team) in time for the fall league, which begins the week of September 20th!

An amazing and completely unexpected thing happened at last night's screening of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" in Forest Lake, MN!

Flanked by a vampire woman, the bride of Frankenstein and a gorilla (man-in-suit, of course), writer/director Christopher R. Mihm was presented with a key to the city by Mayor Stev Stegner and July 30th, 2015 was proclaimed to be "Minnesota Filmmaker Christopher R. Mihm Night!" (Check out the photo below for proof!)

Needless to say, Mr. Mihm was dumbfounded and happy-as-a-clam to receive such a prestigious award. He wants to express his gratitude to all involved in making this great honor a reality, particularly Chris Costello, the "proprietor" of Edwood Grimm's Thursday Night Fright, the weekly screening series during which "Danny Johnson Saves The World" was presented.

Mihm, and its corresponding podcast (the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast) will be a few days late this month. We apologize for any convenience this may cause, especially to those who can't wait to listen to this month's episode of "The Canoe Cops vs. The Mummy!" However, we have been assured it will be available BEFORE the holiday so...only a few extra days to wait!

In honor of the official release of "Danny Johnson Saves The World", "Steve People" puppets (like those seen in the film) are now available for purchase!

These replica puppets are hand-made on-demand by the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, the person who personally designed and sewed every "Steve People" puppet used in making "Danny Johnson Saves The World." These "Muppet-style" hand puppets are made using the same pattern and materials as was used in the film and are all unique in their own special ways. Puppets all start with a "base model" that replicates the look of the main alien character Steve after he is "liberated" from the mind control powers of the evil queen.

Four versions are currently available: Liberated Steve People (base model), Evil Steve People (includes "angry" eyebrows and mind control ring), Steve People Scientist (includes lab coat and mind control ring) and Steve People Messenger (includes beard, "angry" eyebrows, mind control ring, beaded sash and cape).

To order your exclusive "Danny Johnson Saves The World" puppets, visit the collectibles section of the merchandise page!

WOW!

Were you one of the lucky people who attended the world premiere (and/or the pre-party held the night before) of "Danny Johnson Saves The World?" If not, you absolutely missed out on an INCREDIBLE evening filled with fun and excitement! The film was VERY well attended and received—just check out the photo below to see the line that formed outside the theater! Everyone we've talked to had nothing but glowing things to say about the film. However, to date we have yet to read any "official" reviews of the film.

In honor of the release of the latest (and some might argue greatest) Mihmiverse film, we have a new set of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" lobby cards available for purchase! As with all previous Mihmiverse lobby card sets, these unique collectibles come in sets of eight AND are only available in VERY LIMITED quantities—AND they were available at the premiere so there are very few sets left! If you're one who has been collecting the Mihmiverse lobby card sets (or want to start), we HIGHLY RECOMMEND grabbing your copies of these cool limited edition collectibles RIGHT AWAY!

To order your set of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" lobby cards, visit the lobby card section of the merchandise page!

The 2014 Mihmiverse Awards nominations are in!

The Mihmiverse Awards (which are colloquially known as the "Versies") have been awarded since 2012 and cover all the fun Mihmiverse-related stuff that took place during the previous calendar year. The specific awards change from year-to-year but generally fall into three categories: awards specific to last year's film (in this instance "The Late Night Double Feature"), awards specific to the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast and "general Mihmiverse" awards.

Last year's Versies were presented at the "The Late Night Double Feature" premiere pre-party ("The Night Before The Thing") and the audio was recorded and released as the May 2014 episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast. This year, we are doing something a little different by releasing the list of the nominees (below) and then we will be holding (and recording) an "award show" episode of the Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast to be released on or around May 15th...just in time for the big premiere of the NEXT Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World!"

If you are nominated (and remember, it's always an honor to be nominated), you are cordially invited to attend the award show (and bring one guest) and, should you win, give your best "Academy Award speech"—the one you've been working on your whole life! The show will be recorded on Tuesday, April 28th (starting at 7:00PM) around the bonfire (naturally) at Castle Haiderov, AKA Mihmiverse Bonfire Podcast hosts Rhuby 'n' Hater's house in Roseville, MN!

If you see your name in the nomination list below and would like to attend the event, please contact us at podcast@sainteuphoria.com (or by visiting the contact page and submitting the form) so that we may give you more specific directions!

Though it may disappoint some of you, yesterday's "announcement" of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film...was an April Fool's joke. Not surprisingly, we received more than one message saying they wished it weren't! Perhaps someday Mr. Mihm will actually follow up on the idea!

Wednesday, April 1, 2015
With "Danny Johnson Saves The World" complete, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has turned his attention toward the NEXT film AND, he seems to have a very intriguing and unexpected idea.

According to him, the Mihmiverse film for 2016 will be a biopic in the vein of Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" about the process behind what went into making "The Monster of Phantom Lake!" He promises that the film will be presented in black and white (of course) and follow the behind-the-scenes craziness and drama that went into crafting the film that began the Mihmiverse. He also promises to be truthful and unflinching in his portrayal of himself and the others involved. This will NOT be a documentary but a completely dramatized re-telling of what happened...and it'll be released just in time for the 10th anniversary of the release of the original film!

Consider us interested and, frankly, a little curious as to how it'll all turn out. Stay tuned...

Thursday, March 26, 2015

The poster for the latest Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World," is finally here!

The poster was created by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and its fun, retro design tells us A LOT about the kinds of awe-inspiring stuff we can expect from the finished film, including (but one assumes not limited to) aliens, robots, dinosaurs (!), monsters, flying saucers and "more excitement than any human being can handle!"

The poster is already available for purchase in our online store! Head over to the posters section of our merchandise page to order yours TODAY!

If you would like to view a larger version of the poster, drag your mouse pointer over the image to the right and a bigger (and easier to see) version will automatically pop-up!

ALSO, we've heard rumors that the trailer and advance tickets for the May 20th world premiere will be on sale VERY SOON.

Stay tuned...

We want to hear from you!

With the pending release of the tenth Mihmiverse film in ten years, we're looking to you, the fans, for some input into what you like about the 'verse and...maybe what you don't. Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the board members of Saint Euphoria Pictures have put together an online survey to collect this information.

The survey is short (only 10 questions) and is purely for information. It is completely anonymous, so feel free to be brutally honest. This is your chance to influence the future of the Mihmiverse so, if you've been a fan of the films of Christopher R. Mihm in any capacity over the past decade, please help us out by taking the survey!

The survey can be accessed by clicking HERE! Thank you in advance for your time!

THIS JUST IN!

The next Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World," is COMPLETE! In honor of this occasion, we present to you this very cryptic (but no less COOL) still from the finished film!

Needless to say, we can't wait to see the finished film! Also, because the film is complete, the contributor program for this film is officially closed! Hope you got in on time!

Monday, March 9, 2015

Happy Monster Day!
Happy Monster Day!

On this date nine years ago, "The Monster of Phantom Lake" held it's world premiere at the Heights Theatre to a near-sold-out crowd. As soon as it was released, the film began to receive positive press and, to this day, still garners great reviews. It continues to screen all over the world and has appeared in dozens of film festivals and earned numerous awards.

Dubbed "the little movie that could," "The Monster of Phantom Lake" is where the Mihmiverse officially began, introducing the ever-growing fan base to such staples as the Jackson family, "A-Rockin', A-Rollin', All the Way A-Ramblin'," the Canoe Cops, the "flashlight thing," and much, much more!

Just remember, without "The Monster of Phantom Lake," we would never have been introduced to this enduring and ever-expanding universe! So, don't forget to tell everyone you know, "HAPPY MONSTER DAY!" And... maybe encourage them to check out the entire Mihmiverse catalog!

Friday, March 6, 2015

Spring's just around the corner and its arrival means one important thing: Mihmiverse events—and we just added a pair to the calendar that are too cool to not warrant a mention: two "double-triple-features" of Mihmiverse films at two separate drive-ins near Toledo!

On May 8th, "The Giant Spider" and "The Late Night Double Feature" (Get it? "Double-triple-feature?") will screen at the Field of Dreams Drive-In" in Liberty Center, OH. The next night, the same program will play at the Field of Dreams Drive-In in Tiffin, OH. Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and some actors and crewmembers will also be in attendance to sell DVDs and sign merchandise!

Visit the events page for more information!

In other news, by complete accident, we've located two sets (each) of the presumed sold-out lobby card sets for "Attack of the Moon Zombies" and "The Giant Spider!" These sets are all that's left and once they are sold, they will never be available again. If you missed out previously, now's your chance to snap up one of the last remaining sets!

Visit the lobby cards section of the merchandise page to order yours before they're gone forever!

Cool random mention alert!

It has come to our attention that the film that kicked off the Mihmiverse, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," was selected by online horror destination Dread Central as one of "4 Fun Horror Films Shot on a Budget Less Than $10,000!"

Although the film's portion of the article begins by saying there's "...no point in telling you 'The Monster of Phantom Lake' was a great film. It wasn't.," the rest of it is flattering...ish. Either way, as the saying goes, "it's an honor just to be nominated!"

Check out the full article (and see which other films were mentioned) by clicking HERE!

You'll also find the latest Mihmiverse news, an exclusive still from "Danny Johnson Saves The World," The Trivia Corner with Mike Cook (Gustav/Dr. Edwards), From the Mihmiverse Test Kitchens with the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, and a calendar of fun Mihmiverse-related stuff for you to enjoy!

In addition, this latest episode of the new Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast has been released! The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a podcast hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm that focuses specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse.

In this episode, host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm updates us on the continuing production of "Danny Johnson Saves The World," talks about the lessons he's learned regarding the proper pacing of a film and mentions a possible date for the next world premiere and associated festivities!

Also included: another classic movie recommendation from Derek M. Koch of Monster Kid Radio, another "bad" joke from Dr. Bob Tesla of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob and a dramatic reading of "The Mummy's Ring - A Canoe Cops and Paddle Girls Adventure" written by Stephen D. Sullivan!

If you're wondering why this page appears significantly shorter than it was a couple days ago, it's because on or around the first of every new year, we archive the previous year's news into its own convenient archive page. This ensures that this page never runs TOO long or takes too long to load!

To access the 2013 archive, click HERE, visit the relevant link at the bottom of this page or click through to the archive through the drop-down navigation menu under news at the top of the page.
