With the Spring thaw just around the corner, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm continues to keep himself busy focusing on trying to further expand the Mihmiverse!
Now that "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion" DVDs & Blu-Rays are finally in stock and contributor swag has been sent out, the movie can finally considered to be
COMPLETELY released! As a result, this gives the Mihmiverse crew the ability to turn its collective attention toward new projects, including the
NEXT feature film, "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended!" The script is complete, the cast is in place, and pre-production is well underway, with creatures being constructed, props and sets sketched and built, actors costumed, and scenes being broken down into manageable chunks!
According to the man in charge, as soon as principal photography of "
The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" is complete, we can expect shooting of the next Phantom Lake Kids adventure to begin shortly thereafter! Given everything he's told us about the script, we're
EXTREMELY excited for the very
BIG (literally and figuratively!) shenanigans we've been told to expect! However, as with all Mihmiverse films, the only way this movie is going to get made is through generous
contributions from fine folks like yourself!
In "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day The Earth Abruptly Almost Ended," Phantom Lake County is shaken by inexplicable earthquakes emanating from a local system of caves and being overrun by grossly mutated creatures of unusual sizea phenomenon which may point to the return of a long-since-forgotten menace! Thankfully, the Phantom Lake Kids (Danny & Evelyn Johnson and their friends Billy Blue, Butch, and Chip) are "on the job" and determined to solve the real mystery: what's the deal with Butch's magic hat?
For each $20.00 donation, all
contributors will be entitled to having a single name
* of their choosing listed in the
contributors section of the closing credits of the film and a customized, frame-able document certifying their
contribution!
IMPORTANT! Physical media copies of the finished film are
NOT automatically included with a basic
contribution. If you would like to be guaranteed a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film when it is released, you
MUST order it separately (with the purchase of at least one credit)!
Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

PRODUCTION OF THE MIHMIVERSE HOLIDAY SPECIAL CONTINUES!
Principal photography of "
The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" is already nearing its end and, should the production team be able to keep the shoot schedule relatively as is, this special Mihmiverse TV special should be "in the can" by the end of this month!
In this one-of-a-kind Mihmiverse "retro-Christmas-Special-esque" short film, an adorable alien named Stu must seek human help to hunt down Steve, his uncle and the leader of his people, who has inexplicably disappeared under mysterious circumstances!
Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has provided the following behind-the-scenes photo and in it, we see young Evelyn Johnson (Alice Mihm) nestled all snug in her bed, while visions of sugar plums (presumably) dance in her head. Steve's nephew Stu (puppeteered and voiced by "quarantine hair" Elliott Mihm) gets ready to wake up and enlist the unsuspecting heroine in his quest to find his missing uncle!
Should everything come together the way Mr. Mihm hopes, the "
The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" will be released later this year around Thanksgiving!
If you'd like to
contribute to this project and get your name (or your spouse's, child's, dog's, cat's, puppet alien friend's, etc.) in the end credits, go
HERE!
BEWARE THE UNSEEN INVASION!
The latest Mihmiverse film, "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion," is here! It's proving to be quite popular with fans and, from "tea time with Butch" to Alice Johnson's reactions to Billy Blue's shenanigans, everyone seems to be coming away with their own favorite moments!
The first-ever Mihmiverse film to hold its debut digitally, the "premiere edition" (which included over an hour of special features) is no longer available. However, it is still possible to view the film (minus the extra content) on
Vimeo!
If you did miss out on the special premiere edition (or hope to see some of the special features again), you're in luck! The physical media versions of the film contain some of those extras, including the blooper reel, interviews with the cast, exclusive photo galleries, and more!
AND, we can happily report that the Blu-Rays and DVDs of the film are now
IN STOCK!
 |
Stuck in their house during a government-mandated worldwide quarantine, the Phantom Lake Kids (Danny Johnson, his sisters Alice and Evelyn, and their wacky friends Butch, Chip, and Billy Blue) are shocked when most of the gang inexplicably disappears in a flash of light—then reappears moments later! When Alice doesn't return, the rest must meticulously (and hilariously) unravel the mystery behind her disappearance and the invisible forces behind it! Could it be... aliens?
The disc includes a high-quality digital transfer of the film, a blooper reel, two photo galleries, feature-length commentary with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and more!
Feature Run Time: 1 hour, 4 minutes. Black & White, Widescreen, NOT RATED.

From the movie that started it all, "

The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!," and "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion," everything you need to "visit" the denizens of Phantom Lake County is available for your streaming pleasure!
Most of the films of the Mihmiverse (excluding a handful of titles) are free to watch for every Amazon Prime subscriber on Amazon Video. Most modern "smart" TVs, set-top boxes, and Blu-Ray players have the ability to stream Mihmiverse movies into your homes and devices.
AND, as of right now, streaming through Amazon Video is one of the few services that earns Saint Euphoria Pictures a couple bucks in the process! It's not nearly as much as purchasing physical media, but every penny helps!
Drive-in Monsters is the official Mihmiverse Roku channel and the place to find all the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm
AND a collection of special features curated by the man himself! It is Mr. Mihm's plan to add some really cool, exclusive content over time, so we encourage you to add the channel to your Roku lineup. To find the
Drive-in Monsters channel, simply search for it through your Roku service!
As of right now, the service is offered completely free... but, that most likely will not last forever! So, make sure to enjoy the

Lastly, the
ENTIRE filmography of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm (including the newest film, "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion") is available for both rental and purchase through the Mihmiverse
Vimeo VOD portal!
Every film is presented using the same ultra high-quality renders used for the official Blu-Ray releases and actually feeds video content to the
Drive-in Monsters Roku channel. Most importantly, the Mihmiverse
Vimeo VOD portal is the
ONLY PLACE to legally own the films digitally!
Welcome to the
Mihmiverse Monthly feature where we talk to
YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they
REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!
This month, we interview Patrick Anderson!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
Hi! I'm Patrick Anderson. I run a podcast called
Not Suitable For Anyone. You can find it on Apple podcasts or most other places where podcasts are sold. The main landing page is
Anchor.FM/NSFAPod, which has links to every episode and all the various podcast players. It's 100% free, I have no Patreon or "paywalled" content. It's all a labor of love.
I also contribute to
ModernHorrors.com as a senior editor under the name Finley Ash (long story), and occasionally appear on the Modern Horrors Podcast. Like my podcast, Modern Horrors is 100% ad free, supported by our patreon and our own blood, sweat, and tears. I'm a lifelong horror and cheesy movie fan. Microbudget passion projects are my happy place.
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
I very recently discovered the Mihmiverse after watching something silly on Amazon for the millionth time. It was probably "
The VelociPastor," "
Llamageddon," or maybe even "
Inhumanwich." The movie "
Weresquito: Nazi Hunter" came up as a suggestion, and boy am I glad it did.
I was blown away with the pitch perfect execution of old-fashioned B-movies, with sophisticated filmmaking techniques and period accurate music. I became an instant fan and immediately wanted to learn as much as I could about Saint Euphoria and the Mihmiverse.
If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
I think each one is special in its own way. I appreciate the goofball humor and cliche '50s tough guy dialogue of "
The Giant Spider." I enjoy the setting and dialogue in "
Attack of the Moon Zombies." It actually reminds me a bit of my friend's movie, "
Interplanetary." I think "
Guns of the Apocalypse" is a really fun genre blending sci-fi western.
But again, if forced to pick a favorite, I have to go with "
Weresquito: Nazi Hunter." It's "
The Fly" meets "
Inglorious Basterds" directed by Roger Corman... it doesn't get any better than that! And whether you're sucking out their brains, or just melting their faces off, it's always fun to watch a Nazi meet a gruesome death.
Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
Well, I'm new to the Mihmiverse, but I'm a proud owner of my first Mihmiverse autographed double-feature ("
Destination: Outer Space" and "
Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," of course) that I plan to show my kids and all of their friends whenever they come over to the house. I also religiously recommend "
Weresquito" to people online.
But most recently, I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Mihm on my podcast,
Not Suitable For Anyone, which you'll be able to listen to beginning on March 3rd. We got into a number of topics about "
Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," and the Mihmiverse in general. I also may or may not have talked sh** about Martin Scorsese!
Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
Personally, I would love to see the Mihmiverse try some deep sea acquatic horror. I honestly don't know if anything like "The Abyss" or "Leviathan" existed in the '60s. But either way, it would be fun to imagine how someone like Ed Wood or Roger Corman might have pulled it off. Plus you can have James Norgard fight a giant octopus!

Mihmiverse Fan Focus? Send an email to
info@sainteuphoria.com and let us know! Maybe next month the subject will be
YOU!
This Quiz SucksBlood!
Following last month's quiz about the actors who played Frankenstein's monster, this month we "sink our teeth" into a similar quiz about actors who have played Dracula. Of course, Bela Lugosi is most associated with the role, but there have been several others along the way...including some big names.
Below, I have listed 5 films featuring Dracula, and 5 actors (including Lugosi). Can you match the actor with the film, or will the quiz drive you...batty?
1. "Son of Dracula" (1943)
2. "House of Dracula" (1945)
3. "Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948)
4. "Dracula: Prince of Darkness" (1966)
5. "
Old Dracula" (1974)
A. Bela Lugosi
B. Lon Chaney, Jr.
C. John Carradine
D. Christopher Lee
E. David Niven

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
The Manster (1959)
Directed by
George Breakston and and
Kenneth G. CraneStarring
Peter Dyneley,
Jane Hylton and
Tetsu Nakamura
In "
The Manster" (also known as "
The Split" and "
The Two-Headed Monster"), an American journalist gets wrapped up in a Japanese scientist's morally questionable human-evolution experiments and slowly transforms into a hideous two-headed monster. His metamorphosis, however, doesn't happen all at once. Instead, the reporter first becomes a self-centered jerk who inexplicably cheats on his wife, treats everyone like crap, and starts killing strange women on the street. Then, in what has to be one of the coolest and creepiest moments in any classic B-movie, the full transformation begins as he and the audience are shocked to find a fully functional human eyeball sprouting from his shoulder! The eye eventually turns into another head, and the hideous mutant heads back toward the scientist's lair (on top of a volcano!) seeking revenge! This movie is far better than the synopsis would have you believe. Though it drags a little as you wait for the main character to change physically, the film is never dull and, in fact, is very well made from every angle. I would even go so far as to say it's one of the very best of the era. The film was a co-production between the United States and Japan and never really got the same reception or promotion as some other, better-known films. As such, it sadly slipped under the radar for most people. Luckily for monster movie fans, it is now considered to be in the public domain! As far as I'm concerned, "
The Manster" is a "must-see!"
