THE MIHMIVERSE HOLIDAY SPECIAL IS OFFICIALLY IN POST-PRODUCTION!
Principal photography of "
The Mihmiverse Holiday Special" is finally complete! In light of all the delays and false-starts the project has suffered due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, cast and crew were extra grateful to have reached this milestone in the production!
Now that the project has officially entered the post-production stage, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm anticipates he will be finished editing this "retro-Christmas-Special-esque" short film at some point over the summer. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is fully expected to debut later this year!
In honor of this momentous occasion, Mr. Mihm shared with us the following
SUPER COOL still from the last day's shoot! We have no idea what's happening or who (or what) little Evelyn Johnson (Alice Mihm) is squaring off against, but we are
EXTREMELY excited to find out!
DON'T FORGET! Just because principal photography has ended, it doesn't mean the project no longer needs funds! There are a whole host of expenses associated with this stage and, since the Mihmiverse is 100% fan-funded, every
contribution helps!
PLUS, given that this is a
HOLIDAY SPECIAL which will be coming out just in time for the holiday season, what better gift can you give to your loved ones than their name in the end credits of a movie!?
If you'd like to
contribute to this project and get your name (or your spouse's, child's, dog's, cat's, puppet alien friend's, etc.) in the end credits, go
HERE! Though the film will be debuting digitally, DVDs & Blu-Rays will also be released day and date of the premiere, thus greatly simplifying your holiday shopping!
THE PHANTOM LAKE KIDSFILMING BEGINS!
Within days of the release of this newsletter, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the Mihmiverse crew will officially begin shooting the third in the Phantom Lake Kids trilogy, "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended!" Should everything work out just right, Mr. Mihm hopes to wrap principal photography by the end of the summer!
In "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day The Earth Abruptly Almost Ended," Phantom Lake County is shaken by inexplicable earthquakes emanating from a local system of caves and being overrun by grossly mutated creatures of unusual sizea phenomenon which may point to the return of a long-since-forgotten menace! Thankfully, the Phantom Lake Kids (Danny & Evelyn Johnson and their friends Billy Blue, Butch, and Chip) are "on the job" and determined to solve the real mystery: what's the deal with Butch's magic hat?
As was mentioned previously, the Mihmiverse is only made possible by
contributions from fans like you. For each $20.00 donation, all
contributors will be entitled to having a single name
* of their choosing listed in the
contributors section of the closing credits of the film and a customized, frame-able document certifying their
contribution!
IMPORTANT! Physical media copies of the finished film are
NOT automatically included with a basic
contribution. If you would like to be guaranteed a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film when it is released, you
MUST order it separately (with the purchase of at least one credit)!
Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

THAT WHICH LURKS IN THE DARK UPDATE
It is with sadness that we must announce that writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has been forced to "pull the plug" on his unfinished film, "
That Which Lurks in the Dark."
Originally slated to go before cameras in early 2019, scheduling at the time proved to be an unsolvable puzzle and, as a result, the "Mihmiverse machine" had to be refocused toward making "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us." Then, in early 2020, production of "
That Which Lurks in the Dark" found itself back on track but, after shooting a full third of the film, the COVID-19 pandemic swooped in and shut it down. In addition, this also led to the unfortunate postponement of the release of "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us,"
AND the unexpected blessing that turned into "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion!"
With the coronavirus pandemic still continuing into the foreseeable future, Mr. Mihm has concluded that, since the cast and crew live directly within the "Saint Euphoria bubble," the only safe Mihmiverse project to produce at this time is the next Phantom Lake Kids film: "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended." Because of this, the absolute earliest "
That Which Lurks in the Dark" could return to full production would be next year and, to ensure consistency, it would have to start shooting from scratch. Thus, with all the unknowns concerning the project, it was deemed appropriate to cancel the film (
FOR NOW) and offer refunds to all contributors.
As of this date, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has reached out to every person who contributed to the production. If you contributed, but have not received an email or Facebook message from Mr. Mihm, please contact us using the
contact page at
SaintEuphoria.com so everything can be squared away between you and the production!
Lastly, for as disappointing as this news is, it's good to know that the Mihmiverse will continue moving forward. We've been assured that Mr. Mihm still loves the script for "
That Which Lurks in the Dark" and, once it is safe again to revisit it, he will take another look. After all, as they say, third time's the charm, right?
Stay safe everyone!
BEWARE THE UNSEEN INVASION!
The latest Mihmiverse film, "
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Unseen Invasion," is here! It's proving to be quite popular with fans and, from "tea time with Butch" to Alice Johnson's reactions and Billy Blue's shenanigans, everyone seems to be coming away with their own favorite moments!
The first-ever Mihmiverse film to hold its debut digitally, the "premiere edition" (which included over an hour of special features) is no longer available. However, it is still possible to view the film (minus the extra content) on
Vimeo!
If you did miss out on the special premiere edition (or hope to see some of the special features again), you're in luck! The physical media versions of the film contain some of those extras, including the blooper reel, interviews with the cast, exclusive photo galleries, and more! Blu-Rays and DVDs of the film are now
IN STOCK, so order yours today!

Welcome to the
Mihmiverse Monthly feature where we talk to
YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they
REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!
This month, we interview Mark Deering!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
My name is Mark Deering, and I am a mental health therapist from just outside of
Detroit, Michigan. I work a lot, but in my free time I enjoy spending time with my dog
Stella, watching "Doctor Who," the NFL, and science fiction and horror movies (especially Mihmiverse movies).
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
I had just purchased a projector and was looking for different horror/sci-fi channels on
Roku so I could host movie nights with friends. I ran across the Drive-in Monsters Mihmiverse channel and was
curious about its content, so I started watching and have enjoyed the movies ever since.
My dad is a big fan of sci-fi movies from the '50s and '60s, so I grew up watching them
with him. There was a feeling of nostalgia combined with genuine interest in these
movies that had been missing for quite some time.
If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
My favorite Mihmiverse movie would have to be "
House of Ghosts." It was the first
Mihimiverse movie I watched, and I'll tell you, I was hooked. I have ADHD so it's tough
for me just to sit back and watch something without doing something else at the same
time, but that movie had me invested from start to finish. It was a true break from the
real world I was looking for.
Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
I had people over from time to time before the pandemic, but now I show my pride by
wearing my "
The Monster of Phantom Lake"
shirts and supporting new Mihmiverse movies as
they are announced. Once we're able to safely have gatherings, I'll be having more
viewing parties!
Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
I would like to see some animated versions of the Mihmiverse characters in a special
someday, but for now I'd like to see a Mihmiverse movie in a theater here in Detroit!
Want to be interviewed for a future edition of the
Mihmiverse Fan Focus? Send an email to

YOU!

The second list gives you the year of the remake and two of its stars.

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Cat-Women of the Moon (1953)
Directed by
Arthur HiltonStarring
Sonny Tufts,
Victor Jory, and
Marie Windsor
The first manned mission to the moon lands to find nothing but a barren, lifeless hunk of rock...or so it seems at first! When the lone female of the ship's crew begins to exhibit strange symptoms, she inexplicably leads her shipmates to a cave with a breathable atmosphere...over-sized, very unconvincing spider puppets...and women in cat suits who do strange dances because their atmosphere has been reduced to a continuously shrinking pocket and the population of their once shining civilization has dwindled to a handful of angry females. Without the love of men, the women have grown bitter and must find a way to escape before it's too late. These strange alien women are extremely telepathic-ish, even across vast interstellar distances. Unfortunately, their extra-sensory gifts don't work on men, so they're stuck using their
OTHER gifts (read: sex appeal) to force the men of the crew to teach them how to fly their rocket back to Earth where they plan on taking over. Will they succeed? Does it really matter? "
Cat Women of the Moon" is a film that goes so far into "bad" territory that it crosses over that imaginary line and becomes something amazing! Literally
EVERYTHING about this film screams
TERRIBLEbut in all the right ways! If you like movies piled high with extra cheese, this should
DEFINITELY be near the top of your list!
