CURRENT NEWS
THE WAD WOWS AND WINS!

The "Mihmiverse screening season," which generally runs from September to early November, is underway and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's latest opus, "The Wad: The True Story Behind the Phantom Lake County Chewing Gum Disaster," has been enjoying an abundance of positive reactions!

Ever since the film held its wildly successful world premiere at the end of August, audiences have been enthusiastically laughing, "ooh-ing," and "ahh-ing" to the first Mihmiverse mockumentary everywhere it has screened! It was even awarded third place in the feature category at last month's 20th annual Slash & Bash Sci-Fi & Horror Movie Festival! Even though third place doesn't sound as impressive as second or first, it should be pointed out that every other film in competition at the festival had larger budgets and leaned much farther into the "hardcore horror" genre. The fact that a silly faux-documentary about a giant, sad ball of sentient bubble gum was able to beat out a sizable number of other films in a competition it was not particularly well-suited for says A LOT about just how good the movie really is!

A handful of screenings and events are scheduled this month (and beyond)! We hope to see you at one—or more—of them! Remember to frequent the events page at SaintEuphoria.com to stay apprised on all upcoming Mihmiverse-related events!

THREE BAD GIRLS WHO FIND A GUN AND BECOME VAMPIRES

When he's not out promoting "The Wad," and now that principal photography of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm NEXT great film, "Three Bad Girls Who Find a Gun and Become Vampires," is done, he's hard at work editing! In fact, he's been working so hard, he already has 50 minutes of the film complete!

For a movie that will most likely "top out" at 70 to 75 minutes, being this far along means that Mr. Mihm is in the "home stretch!" In fact, he's so far ahead of where he usually is on a project, he's ALREADY set the date for the next world premiere: Wednesday, March 5th, 2025! As always, the event will take place at the Heights Theater in Columbia Heights, MN (which is just north of Minneapolis). However, until the movie is 100% done, the date can only be considered tentative. Granted, unless something truly catastrophic happens before the end of the year, Mr. Mihm anticipates having the final edit done before the holidays, and thus the film SHOULD BE ready in time to hit that release date!

In the meantime, we've been provided a new still from the film! In it, we see Elliott Mihm and Michael Kaiser as their hitmen characters known as Mute & Mouth (respectively). We don't know much about their purpose in the film, but given the fact that this movie pays homage to the cinematic oeuvre of the Coen Brothers, it seems fitting that the script should include a couple of contract killers! Check out the image below!

In "Three Bad Girls Who Find a Gun and Become Vampires," writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's ode to "teensploitation" films of the 1950s and the cinematic oeuvre of the Coen Brothers, three female juvenile delinquents obtain a firearm and, just for the thrill of it, start robbing the fine folks of New Berlin. Unfortunately, their crime spree takes an unexpected turn after they mug and nearly murder the gambling-addicted pastor of the local church—who turns out to be an immortal, blood-sucking creature of the night! Hijinks ensue when the vampiric padre hires a pair of hitmen to help him retrieve his stolen cash and seek revenge against the three bad girls responsible!

In the meantime, never forget that the Mihmiverse is only made possible by contributor credits, and we need all the help we can get! For each $20.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film and a customized, frame-able document certifying their contribution!

IMPORTANT! Physical media copies of the finished film are NOT automatically included with a basic contribution. If you would like to be guaranteed a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film when it is released, you MUST order it separately (with the purchase of at least one credit)!

Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

BLAST FROM THE PAST
In this column, we'll be digging through old issues of the Mihmiverse Monthly and Phantom Lake Almanac (which was the original name of this newsletter!) and presenting interesting bits and pieces from the past! After all, this newsletter has been around since the release of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" back in 2006, so there's a LOT to choose from!

This month, we go back to October 2015 where we meet big fan Lucy Grogg, the first person known to have gotten a Mihmiverse-related tattoo! ALSO, it is mentioned in the story that if you get a Mihmiverse tattoo on your body, you're entitled to free stuff for life. That is STILL TRUE! If you or someone you know has a Mihmiverse-related tattoo, let us know HERE so we can add you (or your friend) to the "free stuff" list!

HOW COOL IS THIS?

The photo at right is an actual tattoo that currently resides on the leg of Mihmiverse fan club member Lucy Grogg!

The tattoo was created for and tattooed onto Ms. Grogg's calf by the very talented Mike Shultz of Ink Therapy Tattoo in Indianapolis, IN. Needless to say, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and Mihmiverse Master Monster Maker Mitch Gonzales (who designed and created the Moon Zombie monsters) were both floored by this amazing piece of body art and Ms. Grogg's loyalty to the Mihmiverse!

As the first person known to get a Mihmiverse-related tattoo, Ms. Grogg is now entitled to one free copy of each Mihmiverse film on DVD (or whatever format comes next) FOR LIFE.

Congratulations, Lucy! AND, thank you for immortalizing one of the coolest Mihmiverse monsters on your body!

Should you, too, decide to tattoo a Mihmiverse-related image (or quote) on your body, please send us a photo and you will also be granted free stuff for life!

Also, if you were wondering which fanclub faction Ms. Grogg is a member of...it's the MOON ZOMBIES, of course! Read Ms. Grogg's interview in the August issue of the Mihmiverse Monthly by clicking HERE!
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Beyond the Time Barrier (1960)
Directed by Edgar G. Ulmer
Starring Robert Clarke, Darlene Tompkins and Vladimir Sokoloff

A test-pilot flies an experimental sub-orbital aircraft and, upon landing, finds himself in the far-off future of the year 2024. The world he knew is gone, seemingly abandoned and in a state of complete decay. While scouting around, he is set upon by the inhabitants of a strange futuristic city, knocked unconscious, and captured. When he awakens, he is surprised to find the remnants of the now-dying human race living in a strange dystopian society. Most of the population has been mutated into brutal, deformed creatures by a cosmic plague, and the remaining few unaffected people rule with an iron fist. He also encounters other "time-travelers" who arrived in this bizarre future by similar "wormhole events." Using his wits and derring-do, our hero must find a way to escape and return to his own time before the violent mutants overthrow the delicate balance! "Beyond the Time Barrier" is quite a decent 1950s science fiction film. In fact, one of the best things that can be said about it is that it feels very much like a prototypical episode of the original "Star Trek" series. Though it definitely comes off as a low-budget production, the story and overall tone of the film is so strong, it overcomes any and all limitations. All things considered, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the film and would recommend it to any fan of classic sci-fi!
