CHECK OUT THE 2025 MIHMIVERSE WALL CALENDAR!
Back by popular demand!
Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has designed a brand new, full-sized (8.5" x 11"), 12-month wall calendar for 2025!
The theme for next year is "alternate reality Mihmiverse posters," wherein poster designs for actual 1950s B-movies are "adapted" to look like how they might have been had the films of the Mihmiverse came out back then! The example below demonstrates the theme by taking a poster design for the 1955 "big bug" movie "
Tarantula!" and creates a version for the most popular Mihmiverse film to date, "
The Giant Spider!"
As in previous years, the 2025 Mihmiverse wall calendar will be released in
EXTREMELY limited quantities (less than 100 will be produced). They'll be individually numbered, personally signed by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and as always, once they're sold out, no more will be printed!
This item is currently available for
PRE-ORDER ONLY. Calendars will ship early next month!
THE 2024 MIHMIVERSE HOLIDAY ORNAMENT IS COMING!
Continue the tradition by adding some retro-monster-cheer to your decorations with the ninth annual Mihmverse holiday ornament!
This year's exclusive ornament is based on the giant, killer wad of gum from the newest Mihimverse film, "
The Wad: The True Story Behind the Phantom Lake County Chewing Gum Disaster!"
This limited-edition collectible is lovingly hand-crafted by members of the Mihm family, individually numbered, includes the year, and joins the ever-growing set which includes last year's Alien (from
Annihilate All Humans!), 2022's Beast (from
The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us"), 2021's Hunter Robot (from "
Danny Johnson Saves the World"), 2020's Oculon (from "
Destination: Outer Space"), the title creature from "
Queen of Snakes" in 2019, 2018's mutant bat (from "
Terror from Beneath the Earth"), 2017's Steve (from "
Danny Johnson Saves The World"), and 2016's
Monster of Phantom Lake (from the film of the same name).
Because stock is limited to no more than 25 ornaments, we highly recommend ordering
NOW to ensure shipment in time for the holidays
AND to make sure you get one, because once they're sold out...no more will be made
EVER!
IMPORTANT! This item is pre-order only and will ship on or around December 1st!

From Science Whiz...to Cheese Whiz...
110 years ago this month, actor Russell Johnson was born. Of course we know him best as The Professor (Roy Hinkley) on "
Gilligan's Island," but Mr. Johnson had a lengthy acting career that included some sci-fi and horror films along the way.
Below, I've listed 6 films, all featuring Russell Johnson. I've also added a list of plot points and other info about the films. Note: Two of the films were made for TV and have similar plots. Your job is to match the films with the info. If you can do it correctly, perhaps you can also tell us how to fix a hole in a boat!
1. "It Came from Outer Space" (1953)
2. "This Island Earth" (1955)
3. "Attack of the Crab Monsters" (1957)
4. "The Space Children" (1958)
5. "The Horror at 37,000 Feet" (1973)
6. "
The Ghost of Flight 401" (1978)
A. Several castaways(!) on a remote island are being terrorized and killed by gigantic monsters. Roger Corman directed.
B. A spaceship crashes in rural Arizona, and the locals begin to act strangely. The screenplay is based on a story by Ray Bradbury and was filmed in 3-D.
C. There's something evil lurking in the cargo hold of an airplane! In addition to Russell Johnson, the all-star cast includes William Shatner, Chuck Connors and Buddy Ebsen.
D. Aliens land on Earth in search of scientists who can help them win a war. This film also features a cameo by Richard Deacon, who later played Mel Cooley on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
E. After a plane crash kills more than 100 people, salvageable parts are used to repair other aircraft. Before long, the repaired planes appear to be haunted. Ernest Borgnine, Kim Basinger and several others Join Russell Johnson for this one.
F. A glowing brain-like creature is transported to rocket test site and telepathically creates chaos. Jackie Coogan (Uncle Fester from The Addams Family) co-stars.

In this column, we'll be digging through old issues of the
Mihmiverse Monthly and
Phantom Lake Almanac (which was the original name of this newsletter!) and presenting interesting bits and pieces from the past! After all, this newsletter has been around since the release of "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" back in 2006, so there's a
LOT to choose from!
This month, we go
WAY back to April 2007! The Mihmiverse was under the
Shadow Creek Studios umbrella and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm was in the casting phase of his next film, "
Cave Women on Mars!" The excerpt below encompasses the entirety of that month's
CURRENT NEWS section. If you'd like to learn more about Shadow Creek Studios and its importance in the greater Mihmiverse story, join the

CURRENT NEWS
March turned out to be an incredibly busy month for the folks behind Saint Euphoria Pictures/All for George Productions as pre-production on the newest film, "
Cave Women on Mars," ramped into high gear! Scripting, prop & set design, and costuming all began in earnest, with the producers gearing up for early April auditions to fill two vacant positions. Most of the cast has already been filled by returning TMOPL/ICFAW favorites M. Scott Taulman (Canoe Cop Sven), Rachel Grubb (Amy), Deanne McDonald (Elizabeth), Michael Kaiser (The Monster) and Josh Craig (Professor Jackson), along with newcomers Brooke Lemke (Spike TV's "
Invasion Iowa!"), Elizabeth Kaiser, Stephanie Mihm and Emma Danbury. Filming begins in May and continues through June and early July.
Just in time for the big premiere, authoring on the "
It Came From Another World!" DVD is complete. The DVD will be available for purchase at all screenings, online and at retailers within the next couple months. For more information about the DVD, check out the special "
It Came From Another World!"
By The Numbers section below.
The new "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" Special Edition DVD is now available for order through online retailers
Amazon.com,
CDUniverse.com and
Shadow Creek Studios. Order your copy today and enjoy new features like an ultra-high quality transfer of the film, expanded special features and the "
It Came From Another World!" teaser trailer! Or own a piece of cinema history with the "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" Collector's Edition DVD! We only have a couple left, so snap yours up before they're gone. Every Collector's Edition DVD is signed by Michael Kaiser (The Monster) and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and comes complete with a poster, a Phantom Lake Canoe Corps patch and a one-of-a-kind piece of the actual monster costume! Collector's Edition DVDs are only available through the official website. Remember, once they're gone, they will
NEVER be available again.
Finally, "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" has won yet another award! The film was chosen as one of the top three audience rated films of the Madison Big Damn Film Festival and earned another Audience Choice award. "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" is the first film in the festival's short history to not only win multiple times in one season, but earn back-to-back awards as well! The film will appear again at the Big Damn Film Festival in St. Louis, Missouri on April 14th. If you're in the area, come on down and do your part to help "
The Monster of Phantom Lake" continue its unprecedented winning streak!
EDITORIAL NOTE: At the time this was published, actor M. Scott Taulman, who played Sven in "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and "It Came From Another World!" is listed as being part of the cast of "Cave Women on Mars." If you've seen the film, you know he did NOT appear in it. He was originally selected to play the character of Captain Mike Jackson, but he, like Deanne McDonald (best known for playing Elizabeth in "The Monster of Phantom Lake"), dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. As a result, Josh Craig stepped in and took on the role of Captain Jackson, one which he ended up reprising in 2010's "Destination: Outer Space!"
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Invisible Invaders (1959)
Directed by
Edward L. CahnStarring
John Agar and
John Carradine
After a prominent scientist is killed in an atomic explosion, invisible aliens from the moon possess and reanimate his corpse (which was miraculously
NOT vaporized in the explosion) and warn the human race to surrender or perish at the cold, dead hands of human zombies inhabited by the "
Invisible Invaders!" As the aliens demonstrate their might through shocking acts of (stock footage) violence, a small group of scientists and a dashing Army officer (played by B-movie stalwart John Agar) are tasked with figuring out a way to defeat the seemingly unstoppable, invisible threat! Admittedly, the premise is as ridiculous as it sounds and raises quite a few unanswered questions. For instance, if the invaders are invisible and incredibly powerful, why do they need to reanimate dead bodies to do their bidding? Wouldn't it have been easier to take over by simply remaining invisible? The outlandishness of the premise aside, if you can suspend your disbelief long enough, the film is a nice, jaunty little fright fest. Horror icon John Carradine appears on-screen for less than five minutes
BUT, his creepy voice is used for all communications with the aliens, lending a sense of gravitas to their threats. All things considered, this film is worth a late night viewing. Highly recommended!
