MIHMIVERSE 2026 WALL CALENDAR!

Back again by popular demand!

Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has designed a brand new, full-sized (8.5" x 11"), 12-month wall calendar for 2026!

The first Mihmiverse movie, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," was released in 2006, so the theme for the coming year honors the 20th anniversary of the films of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm!

Every month will include a montage of images assembled to celebrate a different aspect of the Mihmiverse filmography! The example page below is a collection of colorized stills featuring some of the many alien creatures found throughout the Mihmiverse catalog!

As in previous years, the 2025 Mihmiverse wall calendar will be released in EXTREMELY limited quantities (less than 100 will be produced). They'll be individually numbered, personally signed by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, and as always, once they're sold out, no more will be printed!

2025 MIHMIVERSE HOLIDAY ORNAMENT!

Continue the tradition by adding some retro-monster-cheer to your decorations with the ninth annual Mihmverse holiday ornament!

This year's exclusive ornament is (spoiler alert!) the vampire version of Baby Face from the latest Mihmiverse release, "Three Bad Girls Who Find a Gun and Become Vampires!"

This limited-edition collectible is lovingly hand-crafted by members of the Mihm family, individually numbered, includes the year, and joins the ever-expanding set which includes last year's Killer Wad of Bubble Gum (from The Wad: The True Story Behind the Phantom Lake County Chewing Gum Disaster"), 2023's Alien from "Annihilate All Humans!", 2022's Beast (from "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Beast Walks Among Us"), 2021's Hunter Robot (from "Danny Johnson Saves the World"), 2020's Oculon (from "Destination: Outer Space"), the title creature from "Queen of Snakes" in 2019, 2018's mutant bat (from "Terror from Beneath the Earth"), 2017's Steve (from "Danny Johnson Saves The World"), and 2016's Monster of Phantom Lake (from the film of the same name).

Because stock is limited to no more than 25 ornaments, we highly recommend ordering NOW to ensure shipment in time for the holidays—AND to make sure you get one, because once they're sold out...no more will be made—EVER!

IMPORTANT! Because this item is being made by hand, there may be slight delay before it can be shipped out! Don't worry, though! You'll receive your order as soon as it is ready to go!

THE WANDERING CREATURE (AND OTHER TALES)!

The Wandering Creature (and Other Tales)
In the next great Mihmiverse film, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm takes a stab (pun intended) at an anthology movie in the vein of "Twilight Zone: The Movie," "Trilogy of Terror," and "Creepshow," albeit in his signature retro-B-movie style! In a series of linked, short tales-of-horror, an unmanned spacecraft returning from the asteroid Vesta breaks-up upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere and scatters sample containers across Phantom Lake County! Not-so-unexpectedly (particularly for a Mihmiverse movie), contact with the mysterious, otherworldly contents of these canisters create a whole host of terrifying creatures like mushroom monsters, killer garden gnomes, and more! Can the local population survive such shocking encounters, or will this be the end of all life in Phantom Lake County!?

The Mihmiverse is only made possible by contributions from fans like you. As the project soldiers onward through the filming stage, now is definitely the time when the Mihmiverse needs contributions the most!

For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, and a customized, frame-able document certifying their contribution! Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately. Contributors have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Becoming a contributor does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements.

Physical media copies of the finished film are NOT included with contributions. If you would like to receive DVDs and/or Blu-Rays of the film when it is released, you MUST pre-order them separately. We reserve the right to refuse any credit we deem inappropriate. All refused credits will be refunded.

REMEMBER! Credits can be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen! PLUS, order before December 20th and you'll receive a special, perfect-for-framing-and-wrapping, hand-signed letter from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself!

If you would like to contribute to "The Wandering Creature (and Other Tales)," go HERE!

BLAST FROM THE PAST
In this column, we'll be digging through old issues of the Mihmiverse Monthly and Phantom Lake Almanac (which was the original name of this newsletter!) and presenting interesting bits and pieces from the past! After all, this newsletter has been around since the release of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" back in 2006, so there's a LOT to choose from!

This month we flash-back to August 2016 for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's write-up about the very successful (a word he uses several times) debut of "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" which took place a month prior!

The very short run of "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" was a ROARING SUCCESS...and it's all thanks to the amazing bunch of folks pictured below!

Pictured from left to right, standing: Josh Hertel, Adam Boll, Marlee Anderson, Julia Lopez, Greg Kernkamp, Cherie "Rhuby" Gallinati, Mike Cook, Michele Langhough, Christopher R. Mihm and Seth Berrier. Sitting: Kelan Smith, Cassie Pearson, Greta Kernkamp, Mandy Tietz, Joel Breed, Hannah Monterey Jones and Christopher Sturz. Not pictured: Violet and Irene Eigner.

To date, no official reviews of the show have been published, but reaction on social media was almost entirely positive, with words like "wonderful," "funny" and "masterpiece" being the most common. The show (rightfully) received extensive praise for its direction and catchy music. The true standout of the show was young Greta Kernkamp, who turned 16 just a day before the show opened and took on the role of Elizabeth. In particular, her rendition of the song "Afraid of Everything" sent shivers up the spines of everyone in the audience and showcased hers as a talent which will carry her far in life.

The photo below is of Ms. Kernkamp taken during a dress rehearsal of "Afraid of Everything" during which she sings opposite a spooky tree (played by Mike Cook).

On behalf of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, we would like to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the fine people who made "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!" such a huge success!
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
The Fly (1958)
Directed by Kurt Neumann
Starring Vincent Price, Al Hedison and Patricia Owens

Though remade extremely well in the 1980s as a graphic horror film starring Jeff Goldblum, the original is rightfully considered one of the best of the 1950s. The film is told mostly in flashbacks following the death of the main character—which doesn't give anything away since he dies within the first five minutes! The meat of the story revolves around ambitious scientist Andre Delambre as he discovers the secret to instantaneous teleportation. Numerous experiments with the technology go off without a hitch, prompting the scientist to hastily test it on himself. Unfortunately, during one of these tests, a common housefly ends up in the teleportation chamber with him. The device malfunctions and mixes the two creatures up, resulting in two distinct half-human, half-fly creatures—one possessing most of the body of the scientist (sans human head and hand). The full "fly-head mask" is kept hidden throughout most of the run time, but its reveal is exceedingly effective. Vincent Price gives a solid performance as the scientist's brother who tries desperately to figure out what happened. The film is surprisingly suspenseful with a very well crafted story. The special effects are perfect for the era, and none are so bad as to detract from the overall greatness of the movie. After seeing the original, you'll be surprised how much it has influenced popular culture since its release. If you've never seen it, you need to! I can't recommend this film enough!
