CURRENT NEWS
Exciting stuff is happening in the Mihmiverse, with the most thrilling being the beginning of principal photography of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Revenge of the Monster," last month!

The production has been chugging along "full-steam ahead," and, as of the publication date of this newsletter, a full HALF of the script is already "in the can!" The weather has (so far) cooperated and, according to Mr. Mihm, everything is coming together beautifully, with proof being the first still from the new film seen below!

The image doesn't show us MUCH, but we can see someone fishing in a very familiar lake! Since the synopsis of the film specifically mentions Phantom Lake, we're not entirely surprised that the first official still includes a shot of the well-known location.

Principal photography is slated to continue through the end of the year and, as we get more information and images, we will bring it all to you!

Revenge of the Monster
When Sheriff Hayes (Michael Kaiser) gets wind of strange sightings near Phantom Lake, his investigation into the matter turns up more than he bargained for in the form of a horrific creature that melts its victims on contact... with nothing left but bones! Will his new, unwanted partner help or hinder his ability to stop it before it destroys everything in its path? AND, could this monster be related to previous otherworldly goings-on, and possibly, the lawman's own family history? Find out in "Revenge of the Monster!"

Don't forget that the Mihmiverse is only made possible by contributions from fans like you. With this next film in its beginning stages, now is the time when the production needs your contributions the most!

For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, and a customized, frame-able document certifying their contribution! Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately. Contributors have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Becoming a contributor does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements.

NOTE: Physical media copies of the finished film are NOT included with contributions. If you would like to receive DVDs and/or Blu-Rays of the film when it is released, you MUST pre-order them separately. We reserve the right to refuse any credit we deem inappropriate. All refused credits will be refunded.

ORDER "THE WANDERING CREATURE" TODAY!

Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm takes a stab (pun intended) at an anthology movie in the vein of "Twilight Zone: The Movie," "Trilogy of Terror," and "Creepshow," albeit in his signature retro-B-movie style! In a series of linked, short tales-of-horror, an unmanned spacecraft returning from the asteroid Vesta breaks-up upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere and scatters sample containers across Phantom Lake County! Not-so-unexpectedly (particularly for a Mihmiverse movie), contact with the mysterious, otherworldly contents of these canisters creates a whole host of terrifying creatures, like mushroom monsters, killer garden gnomes, and more! Can the local population survive such shocking encounters, or will this be the end of all life in Phantom Lake County!?

The disc contains a high quality digital transfer of the film and several exclusive special features, including a blooper reel, two photo galleries, feature-length commentary with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, English subtitles, and more!

Feature Run Time: 1 hour, 12 minutes. Black & White, Widescreen, NOT RATED.

BLAST FROM THE PAST
In this column, we dig through old issues of the Mihmiverse Monthly and Phantom Lake Almanac (which was the original name of this newsletter!) and present interesting bits and pieces from the past! After all, this newsletter has been around since the release of "The Monster of Phantom Lake" back in 2006, so there's a LOT to choose from!

This month we flash back to July of 2009 and bring you the Current News section of the old Phantom Lake Almanac!

Here we are in the middle of a "weather roller-coaster" of a summer and writer/director Christopher R. Mihm just doesn't seem to want to stop! Even though he premiered the critically adored "Terror from Beneath the Earth" only six weeks ago, he, along with his merry band o' troublemakers, has already begun to film his next movie, "Destination: Outer Space!" Full principal photography on the sci-fi epic began just days ago (June 28th) at Carver Lake in Woodbury, Minnesota. In the past, Carver Lake has played a very important role in the Mihmiverse as the body of water that stood in as Phantom Lake in "The Monster of Phantom Lake" and the "edge of the Deadlands" in "It Came From Another World!" According to credible sources, the scene filmed does, in fact, take place at Phantom Lake. How, what or why... we don't know. But as soon as we do, we'll scream it from the hilltops!

In other news, due to personal circumstances, one of the producers of "Destination: Outer Space" was forced to pull their support, leaving the production temporarily on shaky ground. BUT, never being ones to shy away from a challenge, co-producers Christopher R. Mihm and Josh Craig (Professor Jackson/Captain Jackson) decided to try something new and ask the fans for help—and help they have! In conjunction with All for George Productions, SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, is offering an "Associate Producer" package directly to you, the fans. For a miniscule monetary investment, all associate producers will have their name listed in the end credits of next year's "Destination: Outer Space" and receive a pair of collector's ticket packages to the premiere, five copies of the film on DVD and a framed certificate with their name and title—perfect for your own "wall of fame!"

If you're interested in the associate producer program, visit the merchandise page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information.

Lastly, if want to see "Terror from Beneath the Earth," meet writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, support a great event AND you'll be in the Omaha area on July 18th, come on down to the Omaha Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival! In addition to a screening of the new film, most of the cast and crew will be on hand to sell merchandise, sign autographs, share stories, take photos and participate in several panel discussions. Don't miss it!

EDITORIAL NOTES: To this day, Carver Lake STILL stands in for Phantom Lake. In fact, just a few days before the publication of this newsletter, several scenes of the NEXT Mihmiverse movie, "Revenge of the Monster," were filmed there!

"Destination: Outer Space" was the first of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's films to be crowd funded. The "Associate Producer" program eventually evolved into contributor credits. As such, contribution credits are the "life-blood" of the Mihmiverse, and without them, there would be no more movies! Thank you, contributors, for keeping the Mihmiverse alive all these years!

The bat monster costume from "Terror from Beneath the Earth" won "Best in Class" in the Masquerade Costume Contest at the Omaha Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival mentioned above!
CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Queen of Blood (1966)
Directed by Curtis Harrington
Starring Basil Rathbone, Dennis Hopper and Judi Meredith

First contact with an alien species is made and while the alien envoy is en route to Earth, its spacecraft crashes on Mars. A rescue mission is launched and, upon locating the wreckage, scans indicate no signs of life...EXCEPT, an intact escape pod is found on the Martian moon Phobos and the crew finds something DID survive: a green, humanoid female! As they escort the mysterious woman back to Earth, members of the crew start turning up dead, with their bodies drained entirely of blood! Retro sci-fi thrills, chills, and scares ensue! The film is pure mid-1960s science fiction and is vaguely reminiscent of the "king" of that particular era: the original "Star Trek" series. Oversaturated candy-colored lighting and costumes create a distinct look and feel, with some of the special effects footage taken from a couple of Soviet films. All things considered, "Queen of Blood" is an entertainingly cheeseball experience. Highly recommended!
