Danny Johnson Saves The World
The Mihmiverse will continue another year with the official announcement of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World!"

Young Danny Johnson (Elliott Mihm) must use his wits and derring-do to stop devious pint-sized aliens—and their unstoppable robot—from brainwashing the children of Earth as a precursor to worldwide domination in writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's retro-styled, sci-fi take on classic family films like "The Goonies," "E.T. The Extra-terrestrial" and "The Princess Bride!"

The film is currently in active production and, should everything work out, will premiere in Spring of next year!

Following the overwhelming success of previous contribution programs for writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's last five films, contributor credits are NOW AVAILABLE for the film!

For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, a customized, framable document certifying their participation in the program and a choice of one (1) copy of the finished film on DVD OR one (1) collector's ticket to the film's world premiere!

ALSO, for the first time ever, additional DVDs of the film and/or premiere tickets may be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit.

Contributor credits can even be given as gifts!

Revenge of the Creature (1955)
Directed by Jack Arnold
Starring John Agar and Lori Nelson

Though most people are at least aware of the classic 1950's monster film, "Creature from the Black Lagoon," few know that it spawned two somewhat inferior sequels. "Revenge of the Creature" was the first, and begins a year after the incidents of the first film. The creature is captured and brought to an aquarium in Florida where it's chained up and put on public display. The movie starts well, but drags a little in the middle until the creature falls in love with a beautiful, young female ichthyologist, breaks free and carries her away. Can the authorities stop the monster before he escapes with his prize? Well, what do you think? Overall, the film is quite good -- although it misses the self-contained perfection of the original. The creature costume and underwater photography are amazing, even by today's standards! The script is solid and surprisingly, the film delivers a couple of real scares. Again, it's not nearly as good as the original, but, for what it is, it's a great classic monster film. Highly recommended!

A popular potluck or picnic dish that every 1950s housewife knew how to make was deviled eggs. The following classic recipe has five simple ingredients found in most homes!

Classic Deviled Eggs

  • 6 hard boiled eggs
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper to taste
1. Boil six eggs in water for 15 to 20 minutes. Let completely cool.

2. Peel the eggs and cut in half.

3. Scoop out the yolks, place in a bowl and mash with a fork.

4. Add ground mustard, vinegar, mayonnaise, salt and pepper to the yolks and stir well until smooth.

5. Carefully put the egg yolk mixture back into the egg whites but do not pack it. There will be enough mixture so the whites are overfilled.

6. Garnish with paprika or parsley.

Yield: 12 servings

Bring this tasty appetizer to your Fourth of July celebration or serve at your next backyard barbecue! We give these "egg-cellent" treats 5 out of 5 "firecrackers!" ENJOY!

All in the family!

All of Mr. Mihm's children and stepchildren have appeared in at least one of his films, with Elliot Mihm taking the lead in the next epic, "Danny Johnson Saves the World."

This month, we discover that other parent/child duos have made some horror and sci-fi films—both together and apart. See if you can name them.

1. Dad was the original on-screen Phantom of the Opera in 1925. His son appeared in films as the Wolfman in 1941 and both Frankenstein's monster and the Mummy in 1942.

2. Dad played Count Dracula in 1945's "House of Dracula" and his son was into human sacrifice in 1980's "Dark Fields."

3. In 1936, mom appeared in "Dracula's Daughter." In 1957, her son appeared in both "20 Million Miles to Earth" and "The Deadly Mantis."

4. Dad went to the Moon in 1950's "Rocketship X-M" and his son came to Earth as "Starman" in 1989.

5. Mom starred in 1960's "Psycho," and appeared with her daughter in the 1980 "The Fog."

6. Mom was terrorized in 1963's "The Birds" and in 1990 appeared briefly with her daughter in the horror/thriller "Pacific Heights."
