The "Halloween season" is officially upon us, and in what has become a tradition over the years, the month of October is shaping up to be an exciting one for fans of the Mihmiverse!
First, and most importantly, we have a HUGE announcement to make! According to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, after taking "enough time off," (his words) work on the NEXT Mihmiverse film...has OFFICIALLY BEGUN! Mr. Mihm isn't giving us many details at this point BUT, he wanted us to make it clear that very important Mihmiverse news will be coming at the end of the month! Specifically, Mr. Mihm mentioned Saturday, October 31st (HALLOWEEN!) as an important date to pay attention!
Also, if you weren't already planning on it, we highly recommend listening to this month's episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast! In this episode, Mr. Mihm discusses his plans for the "second decade" of the Mihmiverse including what will change, what will stay the same, what kinds of films he wants to make AND how YOU can potentially be involved!
Second, as in previous years, A LOT of Mihmiverse-related events are scheduled for this month, from two cool outdoor screenings of "Danny Johnson Saves The World" at the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt in Mukwonago, WI (a decade-long Mihmiverse tradition in the home of the REAL Phantom Lake) to a screening of "The Late Night Double Feature" in Finland (!) and film festival and convention appearances by several familiar faces!
To view a list of all the Mihmiverse-related events currently "on the books," visit the events page at SaintEuphoria.com OR scroll down to the Mihmiverse events calendar in this newsletter!

HOW COOL IS THIS?
The photo at right is an actual tattoo that currently resides on the leg of Mihmiverse fan club member Lucy Grogg!
The tattoo was created for and tattooed onto Ms. Grogg's calf by the very talented Mike Shultz of Ink Therapy Tattoo in Indianapolis, IN. Needless to say, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and Mihmiverse Master Monster Maker Mitch Gonzales (who designed and created the Moon Zombie monsters) were both floored by this amazing piece of body art and Ms. Grogg's loyalty to the Mihmiverse!
As the first person known to get a Mihmiverse-related tattoo, Ms. Grogg is now entitled to one free copy of each Mihmiverse film on DVD (or whatever format comes next) FOR LIFE.
Congratulations, Lucy! AND, thank you for immortalizing one of the coolest Mihmiverse monsters on your body!
Should you, too, decide to tattoo a Mihmiverse-related image (or quote) on your body, please send us a photo and you will also be granted free stuff for life!
Also, if you were wondering which fanclub faction Ms. Grogg is a member of...it's the MOON ZOMBIES, of course! Read Ms. Grogg's interview in the August issue of the Mihmiverse Monthly by clicking HERE!

Don't forget! Scheduled for the EXACT date of the release of the film that started the Mihmiverse, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will be holding an exclusive party/screening in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area on March 9th, 2016 to celebrate the release of the currently-in-production "The Monster of Phantom Lake" 10th Anniversary Edition DVD...IN 3-D!
| | | That's right! In addition to working on his part of the musical stage version of the film, Mr. Mihm is busy converting the film into an old school red/blue 3-D film that will be made available on DVD on "Monster Day" (the Mihmiverse holiday created specifically to celebrate the release of the film over the years) early next year! This special edition release will include both 3D and non-3D versions of the film and several NEW extras, including a new audio commentary from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm reflecting on the film and its impact on the Mihmiverse! Other cool special features are in the planning stages and will be revealed over the coming months as they come together!
Want to help with the production of this special edition of the film that began the Mihmiverse? Want to receive a contributor credit at the end of this new print of the film? Want to reserve your copy of the DVD AND your spot at the release party/screening? Contributor credits are NOW AVAILABLE!
For each $50.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film, a customized, frameable document certifying their participation in the program, one (1) copy of this special edition on DVD and one (1) collector's ticket to the DVD release party/screening! Additional DVDs of the film and/or party tickets may be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit.
Contributor credits can even be given as gifts! There are few gifts as unique as your loved one's name in the end credits of a movie, especially a film as beloved as this!
If you'd like to contribute, visit the contributor page at SaintEuphoria.com by clicking HERE!
*A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately.
NOTE: The contributor program is an "equal exchange" program, which means specifically that those participating have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Satellite in the Sky (1956)
Directed by Paul Dickson Starring Kieron Moore and Lois Maxwell

England launches the first manned mission into low-Earth orbit to secretly test the "Tritonium" bomb, a doomsday atomic weapon that, once witnessed by the people of Earth, will put an end to war forever! Naturally, things don't go as planned and the crew (plus a sexy, female stowaway reporter) are forced to make some hard decisions and deal with some extremely dubious science. Filmed in "Cinemascope" and presented in color, the movie can be slow at times but overall, the look and feel of it is so genuinely "1950s science fiction" that it can't help but be fun! The cast is perfectly hammy, and the soap opera-ish melodrama sprinkled throughout is quite entertaining. The sets are beautifully retro and it seems pretty obvious that a good deal of money was spent on the movie. The special effects include some wonderful, era-appropriate model work where, yes, you can see the strings! Worth a look for every fan of old science fiction, if for no other reason than to see what the writers got right AND wrong about space flight before it became a reality!

"That's the Spirit!"
In honor of Halloween, we present these 'haunting" descriptions of "ghostly" classics. Name them.
1. (1944) A brother and sister move into an old seaside house on the English coast. After hearing unexplained sounds during the night, it becomes obvious the house is haunted. As they try to figure out "why," the supernatural activity increases to a frightening level. Ray Milland starred.
2. (1960) Bert I. Gordon directed his film about a man (played by Richard Carlson) who lets a former flame fall to her death rather than let her interfere with his new relationship. Unfortunately, her ghost returns to disrupt his impending nuptialswith deadly results.
3. (1961) In Victorian England, a man hires a governess (played by Deborah Kerr) to raise his orphaned niece and nephew. Soon after her arrival, she realizes the children are possessed by ghosts and decides to help exorcize them.
4. (1963) A scientist doing paranormal research invites two women to a haunted mansion. One of them somehow taps into the ghostly presence that inhabits the house, and all Hell breaks loose. Julie Harris and Claire Bloom star.
5. (1963) Roger Corman (with an uncredited Francis Ford Coppola) directed this story about a young officer in Napoleon's army (Jack Nicholson) who pursues a mysterious ghostly woman to the haunted castle of an elderly Baron (Boris Karloff).

Spaghetti with meat sauce is an easy-to-make family favorite in many homes, but sometimes you may want to shake up this dinner standby. The following recipe for Spaghetti Pie is a delicious and fun alternative to the usual "noodles & sauce" that will satisfy all your hungry monsters!
Spaghetti Pie
- 6 ounces uncooked spaghetti
- 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 cup undrained canned diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup (8 ounces) fat-free cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded part skim mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350°. Cook spaghetti according to package directions for al dente; drain.
In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat 5-7 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, seasonings and sugar.
In a large bowl, mix beaten egg whites, melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Add spaghetti and toss to coat. Press spaghetti mixture onto bottom and up sides of a 9-in. deep-dish pie plate coated with cooking spray, forming a crust. Spread cottage cheese onto bottom; top with beef mixture.
Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until heated through. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
Yield: 6 servings
Best served with a garden salad and garlic toast. In honor of the recently announced BIG scientific discovery, my family gives it 5 out of 5 glasses of "Martian water!" (Just wait until they find the cave women!)
ENJOY!
You can find this recipe (and many more like it) and its corresponding nutrition information on the Taste of Home website!

Since so many fans and supporters have joined the official Mihmiverse fan club, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people!
This month, we interview Monsters faction member and Monster Kid Radio host, Derek M. Koch!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!

I'm a podcaster, writer, and classic (horror, sci fi, and otherwise) movie fan. I've been podcasting since 2008, and I'm currently producing Monster Kid Radio which won the Rondo Classic Horror Award for Best Horror Multimedia/Podcast last year. (And I'm sure having both Christopher R. Mihm and Mitch Gonzalez on the show as guests is part of the reason for that!) I also produce the Dorado Films Podcast and co-produce the 1950 Down Place podcast. Writing-wise, I've got some cool projects coming in 2016, so stay tuned to either Monster Kid Radio or my own website Plan D.
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?

I was wandering through the horror host area of a Horror Hound Weekend back in 2009, maybe 2010. I don't remember. What I do remember was a guy sitting at a table with a handful of the Mihmiverse DVDs in front of him. I stopped and chatted with him, and in retrospect, I realize I was talking with Dr. Ivan Cryptosis. He told me about the movies, and when I got home from the convention, I ordered all of the movies that had been released to date.
Which of the ten released films is your favorite and why?

I've been asked before what my favorite movie is, and while I love them all, "The Giant Spider" is tops for me. Daniel Sjerven and Shannon McDonough are two of my favorite performers from the Mihmiverse. The theme song is fun. The monster is perhaps one of the most deliberate homages to the classic horror sci fi films. "The Giant Spider" just delivers on all levels.
When you joined the fan club, you chose to join the Monsters faction. Why?"

I produce a podcast called MONSTER Kid Radio, not ZOMBIE Kid Radio. Come on...
If you could suggest anything regarding the direction of the future of the Mihmiverse, what would you suggest? What do YOU want to see?

Obviously I'd love to see more movies. I love the world of the Mihmiverse, and I want to see it continue to grow. I want to spend more time with the Canoe Cops; I'd love to hear about what Professor Jackson is up to; I want to meet new friends and revisit old ones. It seems to me the movies would be the primary outlet for this. However, I'd also like to see more ancillary/tie in products/projects. Stephen D. Sullivan's ongoing Canoe Cops story in the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is a great example of this. And, of course, let's get the Mihmiverse creators PAID (somehow)!
Interested in joining the official fan club of the films of Christopher R. Mihm? Designed as a way for fans to be more involved in the Mihmiverse and the direction it takes, members are entitled to a myriad of benefits including exclusive merchandise, pre-sale access to cool stuff, invitations to members-only events and much, much more! For around $4 a month (less than the price of most cups of coffee), you too can be a part of the fun. PLUS, every member gets a cool membership card, a hand-signed welcome letter and will be enrolled in one of the two fan club "factions," (Monsters or Moon Zombies) which will be important for future team events, games and contests!
Visit the fan club page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information. Who knows? Maybe next month we'll be interviewing YOU!
