The tenth Mihmiverse feature in as many years was celebrated in spectacular style with the May 20th world premiere of the latest Christopher R. Mihm creation, "Danny Johnson Saves The World!"
As you can see from the photo below, a LONG LINE formed well before the doors opened and, at showtime, the auditorium was filled to the brim! The crowd was boisterous and seemed to have a fine time, laughing and cheering in all the right places. For the first time in Mihmiverse history, the ENTIRE cast of the film was in attendance and many autographs were signed!
All things considered, the tenth Mihmiverse premiere was a rousing success. According to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm, more than a handful of attendees approached him after the film to express their belief that "Danny Johnson Saves The World" stands head-and-shoulders above the rest of the Mihmiverse catalog. All of them made a point to mention how impressed they were by the acting skills of the very talented young cast members who did such a magnificent job in the film!
Also, those who attended the second-annual "Night Before The Thing" premiere pre-party on May 19th were treated to a fun night filled with delicious pizza provided by Tasty Pizza, extra challenging Mihmiverse trivia, a piñata for the kids, a ridiculously entertaining sauerkraut eating contest and an intense game of musical chairs! All things considered, with the theme being a "grown up kid's party," everyone who attended had a fantastic time!

This all region, NTSC DVD contains an ultra-high-quality, widescreen presentation of the film, English and Esperanto audio and subtitles and exclusive bonus features and featurettes, including an exclusive Canoe Cops cartoon (in color!), a blooper reel, the official trailer, a photo gallery, film introductions by horror hosts Dr. Ivan Cryptosis and Dr. Bob Tesla, audio commentary with writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and lead puppeteer Stephanie Mihm, and more!
$9.99 (+$2.50 shipping & handling) * Autographs require removal of a DVD's protective plastic wrap. By selecting the autograph option, you agree to allow us to do this!

In honor of the official release of " Danny Johnson Saves The World," "Steve People" puppets (like those seen in the film) are now available for purchase!
These replica puppets are hand-made on-demand by the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, the person who personally designed and sewed every "Steve People" puppet used in making "Danny Johnson Saves The World." These "Muppet-style" hand puppets are made using the same pattern and materials used in the film and are all unique in their own special ways. Puppets all start with a "base model" that replicates the look of the main alien character Steve after he is "liberated" from the mind control powers of the evil queen.
Four versions are currently available: Liberated Steve People (base model), Evil Steve People (includes "angry" eyebrows and mind control ring), Steve People Scientist (includes lab coat and mind control ring) and Steve People Messenger (includes beard, "angry" eyebrows, mind control ring, beaded sash and cape).
Shipping & handling on all puppets is $6.99 each. Since these puppets are hand-made on-demand, please allow up to four weeks to receive your order!

Lobby cards are a form of movie advertising that were quite common from the early days of film, up through the B-movie-rich 1950s and '60s. Usually issued in sets of eight, each card featured a different scene from the film. These days, full sets of lobby cards are highly sought after by collectors.
After releasing lobby card sets for "The Giant Spider," "Attack of the Moon Zombies," "The Late Night Double Feature" and "The Monster of Phantom Lake," a new set for the latest Mihmiverse film, "Danny Johnson Saves The World," is now availableBUT, since the set was first made available to those who attended the world premiere of the film, we are down to ONLY two sets left!
Designed by Mr. Mihm himself, this set of eight 8.5" x 11" lobby cards depicts scenes from the film and are hand-colorized and stylistically "weathered" to look extra retro! Order now before they're gone, because once they're sold out, they may never be available EVER AGAIN!
$19.99 per set ( FREE shipping & handling, even international!) To order a set, click here: |

Attack of the Puppet People (1958)
Directed by Bert I. Gordon Starring John
Agar and John Hoyt

In honor of the release of "Danny Johnson Saves The World," (the Mihmiverse's first "puppet movie"), this month's classic film is the Bert I. Gordon classic, "Attack of the Puppet People." In this quite weird little movie, John Hoyt plays a
creepy dollmaker who, when anyone he comes in contact with threatens
to abandon him, uses a machine of his design to shrink them to doll
size and hold them indefinitely as his own little playthings.
Naturally, the tiny people rebel and all heck breaks loose...more
or less. Overall, the film is great, but during most of the movie,
it's hard not to feel like you're
watching some sort of modern, surrealist art film akin to 1999's "Being John
Malkovich," albeit made in a black-and-white,
1950's B-movie style. The special effects are era-appropriate cool, John Hoyt as the dollmaker is
pitch-perfect creepy and the ever-reliable John Agar stands out, oozing with his usual amount of '50s leading-man cool. Definitely worth
seeing!

5/50
Five extremely cheesy horror films from 50 years ago: 1965. Name them!
1. Surfing kids, a mutant barracuda, a huge lion puppet and a theme song written by Frank Sinatra, Jr.
2. Adapted from H.P. Lovecraft's "The Colour Out of Space," Boris Karloff, a radioactive meteorite and mutant plants and animals.
3. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, anthology film, tarot cards, werewolf, vampire, voodoo.
4. Vanished astronaut, radioactive monster, no plot resolution, #84 on IMDb's 100 worst movies of all time.
5. Teenage girls, haunted house, mad scientist, gorilla, werewolf, and live actors who attacked the theater audience.

In honor of the weather growing warmer, I've chosen for this month's recipe a simple and fresh sandwich perfect for a summer picnic or a light dinner!
Cucumber Chicken Salad Sandwiches
- 1 cup cubed cooked chicken breast
- 1/3 cup chopped seeded peeled cucumber
- 1/4 cup fat-free mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon dill weed
- 2 lettuce leaves
- 4 slices tomato
- 2 sandwich buns, split
In a small bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Place lettuce and tomato on bun bottoms; top with chicken salad. Replace bun tops.
Yield: 2 servings
To round out the perfect summer meal, I suggest serving these with a refreshing fruit salad or a crispy garden salad. My little (and big) monsters gobble these right down and give them 5 out of 5 "lucky coins!"
ENJOY!
You can find this recipe (and many more like it) and its corresponding nutrition information on the Taste of Home website!
