CURRENT NEWS
It's freezing cold up in Minnesota (where the Mihmiverse is based), but that's not keeping writer/director Christopher R. Mihm from diligently editing his next film, "Annihilate All Humans!"

After a two-month delay due to multiple illnesses amongst the cast which were, thankfully, never Covid, and the holidays, the Mihmiverse gang was able to finally get together and finish shooting the last two scenes required to complete principal photography!

In honor of this momentous occasion, Mr. Mihm provided us with the following still from the film! In it, you get a very clear image of one of the flying saucers as it attacks, which is made extra apparent based on the flames in the background! In addition, you can see the backs of the heads of two aliens in the foreground who appear to be watching the carnage on a large video screen! So cool!

In "Annihilate All Humans!," the world is under attack by flying saucers and only top scientists Dr. Edwards (Mike Cook) and Dr. Gabriel (James Norgard) can put an end to their unearthly aggression! Unfortunately, they have no idea it's even happening because they've been kidnapped by General Castle (Mark Haider) and taken to a remote cabin in the deep woods for some unsolicited rest & relaxation! Can our heroes find their way back to civilization in time to stop the alien menace, or will the seemingly unstoppable space invaders succeed in their quest to ANNIHILATE ALL HUMANS!?

Don't forget! The Mihmiverse is only made possible by contributor credits! For each $20.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name* of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film and a customized, frame-able document certifying their contribution!

IMPORTANT! Physical media copies of the finished film are NOT automatically included with a basic contribution. If you would like to be guaranteed a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film when it is released, you MUST order it separately (with the purchase of at least one credit)!

Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!

MIHMIVERSE FAN FOCUS
Welcome to the Mihmiverse Monthly feature where we talk to YOU, the fans! Every month, we choose a random Mihmivite and ask them a few Mihmiverse-related questions in an attempt to get to know them better and find out what they REALLY think about the films of Christopher R. Mihm!

This month, we interview Misty O'Quain!

Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
I'm a 33yr old mom from Sulphur, Louisiana. I currently spend most of my time either working or doing Cub Scout-related activities. I've been a fan of independent films for as long as I can remember. This past year I took my son to the Lake Charles Film Festival where I'm pretty sure he fell in love too. Horror had been the main subgenre I stuck to, but my partner and I had been on a sci-fi journey for a good bit now.

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
In May of 2016, I attended an event called Space City Comic Con in Houston, Texas. It was a weekend full of behind-the-scenes drama which ultimately resulted in the event ceasing to exist! My friends and I were in town for a Flogging Molly concert and had time to kill before we checked into the hotel. Going to the convention was a total spur of the moment decision, but I'm glad we did! I stumbled upon Mr. Mihm's booth and was immediately captured by the hand made plushies. I bought the Phantom Lake Monster plushie and "Cave Women on Mars" on DVD. I had never heard of this guy, but of course I had him autograph the movie!

If you had to pick just ONE, which of the Mihmiverse films would be your favorite?
Hands down, my favorite is "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter." I give it 10 out of 10! "The Giant Spider" is a close second.

Tell us how you, in particular, show your "Mihmiverse pride!"
I keep my Phantom Lake Monster plushie on my desk at work! It really pulls people's attention into a very effective conversation trap!

Where would you like to see the Mihmiverse go in the future?
Physically, I would love to see more Mihmiverse-related events in the south, like a screening or two. Film-wise, maybe some breaking-of-the-fourth-wall moments (I haven't seen every single movie yet, so I'm unsure if there are any out there). All-in-all, I'm just enjoying the journey, and can't wait to see what's next!
Want to be interviewed for a future edition of the Mihmiverse Fan Focus? Send an email to info@sainteuphoria.com and let us know! Maybe next month the subject will be YOU!
THE TRIVIA CORNER
The Things Voodoo for Love (of cheese)!

Movies about voodoo and zombies go back nearly a century, which means there's a lot of vintage cheese out there. Below are 6 examples. List one gives you a title and year. List two gives you plot points and other info. As always, your job is to match them up! So get going...and knock 'em undead!

1. "King of the Zombies" (1941)
2. "I Walked with a Zombie" (1943)
3. "Voodoo Man" (1944)
4. "Voodoo Woman" (1957)
5. "Voodoo Island" (1957)
6. "Macumba Love" (1960)

A. Deep in the jungle, an evil scientist uses voodoo to create an indestructible menace. Mike Connors (Mannix) stars.
B. A spooky Island, an evil doctor, foreign spies and zombies.
C. A spooky Island, a sugar plantation, voodoo, zombies, and a nurse who discovers the madness behind it all.
D. A writer known for exposing fake witchcraft and voodoo goes to South America and finds the real thing.
E. A resort hotel on an island full of zombies? NOT a good idea. Boris Karloff stars.
F. An insane doctor uses voodoo and hypnotism in an effort to revive his long dead wife. Bela Lugosi stars.

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
Mr. Sardonicus (1961)
Directed by William Castle
Starring Guy Rolfe, Ronald Lewis, and Audrey Dalton

"Mr. Sardonicus" is one of William Castle's "gimmick pictures" (alongside such classics as "The Tingler" and "House on Haunted Hill"). This Victorian-era set film tells the tale of Marek Toleslawski, a man from humble beginnings whose father dies and is buried with a winning lottery ticket in his pocket. Unable to let the possibility of riches go, the young Marek digs up his father's grave. However, upon seeing his deceased father's decaying face, the sheer terror felt by Marek freezes his own facial muscles into a horrific, contorted grin. With the prize money, Marek buys himself a castle, title, and new identity: that of Baron Sardonicus, a name chosen in reference to a "sardonic smile," a term used for victims of tetanus. Driven mad by his own distorted features, Baron Sardonicus wears a mask to hide his appearance and cruelly experiments on young women hoping to cure his deformity. The true story begins when Baron Sardonicus' wife contacts her long-lost love, a doctor specializing in 19th-century plastic surgery, and asks him to come to the castle to use his expertise to cure the Baron. He agrees, and in short order, is thrust into a spine-tingling and macabre story about an obsessed man who will stop at nothing—even mutilation and murder—to regain his normal looks. In my opinion, "Mr. Sardonicus" is one of William Castle's better films. He does a magnificent job of creating a gothic atmosphere of dread, and all the actors, particularly Oskar Homolka as Baron Sardonicus' right-hand-man and enforcer Krull, provide top-notch performances. The movie is quite dark and extremely entertaining. Also, the gimmick for the film involved giving the audience glow-in-the-dark "punishment cards" that gave moviegoers the "ability" to decide Baron Sardonicus' ultimate fate. According to William Castle, two endings were filmed but only one was ever shown as audiences always chose the ending that saw Mr. Sardonicus "getting his just desserts." To date, footage of the "alternate ending" has never been located because, most likely, only one was ever filmed. I highly recommend this film!

STREAM THE MIHMIVERSE
If you're like most people these days, you tend to stream your favorite TV shows and movies, particularly because it's way more convenient and you have access to them in more places! Did you know there are now several places to stream the entire Mihmiverse catalog?

From the movie that started it all, "The Monster of Phantom Lake," to its musical offshoot, "The Monster of Phantom Lake: The Musical!," and "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended," everything you need to "visit" the denizens of Phantom Lake County is available for your streaming pleasure!

The ENTIRE filmography of writer/director Christopher R. Mihm (including the recently-released "The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day the Earth Abruptly Almost Ended") is available through the Mihmiverse Vimeo VOD portal!

Every film is presented using the same ultra high-quality renders used for the official Blu-Ray releases and actually feeds video content to the Drive-in Monsters Roku channel. Most importantly, the Mihmiverse Vimeo VOD portal is the ONLY PLACE to legally own the films digitally!

Retro-style monster movies from the wild & weird imagination of cult filmmaker Christopher R. Mihm! From giant, rampaging spiders to alien invasions and bug-eyed horrors, the Drive-in Monsters channel includes the entire catalog of Mr. Mihm's films, exclusive extras, and long lost special features originally released on currently out-of-print physical media! Explore the worldwide underground cult phenomenon known as the "Mihmiverse" and enjoy the rebirth of the golden age of "drive-in cinema" with the Drive-in Monsters channel!

As of right now, the channel is free... but, that most likely will not last forever! So make sure to enjoy the Drive-in Monsters Roku channel while it's still completely free of charge!

Most of the films of the Mihmiverse are available on Amazon Video. Sadly, as Amazon continues to revise and rewrite its policies, they have downgraded the entire Mihmiverse catalog from "available with Prime" to rental only. Though this wasn't entirely unexpected—given the way the service has been slowly ridding itself of the films of Christopher R. Mihm—we CANNOT guarantee they will still be there on any given day! So, if Amazon is your preferred place to watch the Mihmiverse, enjoy it while it lasts!

NOTE: Amazon has barred writer/director Christopher R. Mihm (and MANY other independent filmmakers) from adding any new films to their service. As far as we have been able to figure out, the service is taking a more "curated" approach to its catalog and, unfortunately, does not have any more room for the cheesy goodness of the Mihmiverse! Therefore, if you're interested in watching the newest films of the Mihmiverse, we highly recommend checking out the Mihmiverse Roku channel, Drive-in Monsters!
