Welcome to the sixth annual Mihmiverse Holiday Gift Guide! With the holidays upon us, this handy guide highlights all of the unique stuff out there that is either related to the films of the Mihmiverse or made by the great folks associated with the films' creation! Enjoy!

Weresquito: Nazi Hunter
This year, give the most unique gift of all: contribute to writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's next film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," and dedicate it to your loved one!

For each contribution of just $25.00 (per credit), all contributors will have a credit of their choosing listed in the closing credits of the film and receive one (1) copy of the finished film (format of your choice) OR one (1) collector's ticket to the world premiere and a customized, frame-able document certifying their participation! AND, additional copies of the film and/or premiere tickets may be pre-ordered as "add-ons" ($10 each) with the purchase of at least one credit!

Is there anything more unique or thrilling than giving the gift of your loved one's name on the big screen!? PLUS, order before December 20th and you'll receive a special, perfect-for-framing-and-wrapping, hand-signed letter from writer/director Christopher R. Mihm himself!

NOTE: A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately.

* The contributor program is an "equal exchange" program, which means specifically that those participating have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Participation in the contributor program does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements. In essence, all contributors are pre-ordering an equal exchange's worth of merchandise—and nothing more.

Mihmiverse Lobby Cards!

Lobby cards are a form of movie advertising that were quite common from the early days of film, up through the B-movie-rich 1950s and '60s. Usually issued in sets of eight, each card featured a different scene from the film. These days, full sets of lobby cards are highly sought after by collectors.

After releasing lobby card sets for more than half of the Mihmiverse movie catalog, a new set for "Destination: Outer Space" has been made available as an extremely-limited-run collectible!

Designed by Mr. Mihm himself, this set of eight 8.5" x 11" lobby cards depict scenes from both halves of the film and are hand-colorized and stylistically "weathered" to look extra "retro!"

$19.99 per set (FREE shipping & handling, even international!)

"Manos: The Hands of Fate"

Mike, Margaret, their young daughter Debbie, and toy poodle Pepe drive into the West Texas countryside looking forward to a relaxing family vacation. Instead, they discover an evil cult of undead polygamists led by The Master and his half-human servant, Torgo. Can the family make it out of the desert alive with both the cultists and the Hands of Fate against them?

Based on the "so-bad-it's-good" cult horror classic, "Manos: The Hands of Fate" is the first of two Manos novelizations by award-winning author Stephen D. Sullivan.

In this laugh-a-minute adaptation, Sullivan has captured all the zaniness of the "classic" low-budget feature—including every word of the original dialogue. Fans of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," "RiffTrax," or bad movies in general are in for a real treat!

Stephen D. Sullivan is the talented writer responsible for the ongoing Canoe Cops serial, a chapter of which appears at the end of every episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast! Make sure to pick up his very funny "Manos: The Hands of Fate" adaptation for the Mihmivite in YOUR family by visiting Amazon.com!

The latest episode of the Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast has arrived!

This month, host writer/director Christopher R. Mihm discusses the overall mood of the script for his next film, "Weresquito: Nazi Hunter," talks about all the fun Mihmiverse-related stuff coming in 2016 and reads a few more Amazon.com user reviews of "The Giant Spider!"

Also included: another "bad" joke from Dr. Bob Tesla of Midnight Monster Movies with Dr. Bob and a dramatic reading of "Incident at the Premiere," the tenth chapter in the "Canoe Cops Vs. The Mummy" serial written by Stephen D. Sullivan!

To download an .mp3 of the audiocast, click HERE, visit archive.org where the file is stored or download it free from iTunes!

Otherwise, if you'd like to listen to the episode right from this browser window, click the play button on the player below!

The Mihmiverse Monthly Audiocast is hosted by writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and is focused specifically on what's going on RIGHT NOW in the Mihmiverse. In addition, Mr. Mihm will discuss the monster movie-making process, touch briefly on the future of the 'verse, pontificate on random subjects, and be joined by guests from within and without the Mihmiverse. PLUS, each episode will include something unique you won't find anywhere else!

Mr. Sardonicus (1961)
Directed by William Castle
Starring Guy Rolfe, Ronald Lewis, and Audrey Dalton

"Mr. Sardonicus" is one of William Castle's "gimmick pictures" (alongside such classics as "The Tingler" and "House on Haunted Hill"). This Victorian-era set film tells the tale of Marek Toleslawski, a man from humble beginnings whose father dies and is buried with a winning lottery ticket in his pocket. Unable to let the possibility of riches go, the young Marek digs up his father's grave. However, upon seeing his deceased father's decaying face, the sheer terror felt by Marek freezes his own facial muscles into a horrific, contorted grin. With the prize money, Marek buys himself a castle, title, and new identity: that of Baron Sardonicus, a name chosen in reference to a "sardonic smile," a term used for victims of tetanus. Driven mad by his own distorted features, Baron Sardonicus wears a mask to hide his appearance and cruelly experiments on young women hoping to cure his deformity. The true story begins when Baron Sardonicus' wife contacts her long-lost love, a doctor specializing in 19th-century plastic surgery, and asks him to come to the castle to use his expertise to cure the Baron. He agrees, and in short order, is thrust into a spine-tingling and macabre story about an obsessed man who will stop at nothing—even mutilation and murder—to regain his normal looks. In my opinion, "Mr. Sardonicus" is one of William Castle's better films. He does a magnificent job of creating a gothic atmosphere of dread and all the actors, particularly Oskar Homolka as Baron Sardonicus' right-hand-man and enforcer Krull, provide top-notch performances. The movie is quite dark and extremely entertaining. Also, the gimmick for the film involved giving the audience glow-in-the-dark "punishment cards" that gave moviegoers the "ability" to decide Baron Sardonicus' ultimate fate. According to William Castle, two endings were filmed but only one was ever shown as audiences always chose the ending that saw Mr. Sardonicus "getting his just desserts." To date, footage of the "alternate ending" has never been located because, most likely, only one was ever filmed. I highly recommend this film!

Eggs and toast are a fantastic choice for breakfast, a snack, lunch or even "brinner" (breakfast-for-dinner). Here is a quick and tasty way to combine them into one fully-incorporated dish!

Bird in a Nest

  • 1 egg
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Salt & pepper to taste
Using a glass or ring mold, cut and remove a circle in the center of the slice of bread.

Melt the butter in a shallow frying pan and place the slice of bread into the pan.

Crack the egg and place it gently into the hole in the bread.

On medium/low heat, brown each side of the bread until the egg is cooked how you like it.

Salt and pepper to taste!

Best served with a side of fruit, breakfast sausage and/or bacon! My littlest monsters give this quick-dish-with-the-cute-name 5 out of 5 "retro rocket ships!" ENJOY!

Since so many fans and supporters have joined the official Mihmiverse fan club, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people!

This month, we interview Monsters faction member Dane Erickson!

Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!

Hello! Dane here! Nicknamed "Danger," I work as a personal care aide and also, when I can, as a certified personal trainer and actor. Being from Minnesota, my favorite sport to watch and play is hockey. I like to go camping and hunting, especially pheasant hunting with the dogs.

When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?

About a year ago, I was browsing small budget films on Wikipedia and found "The Monster of Phantom Lake." Impressed by the awards it had won, I went to Amazon.com to rent it. Now, here I am, an owner of all the great Mihmiverse films!

Which of the ten released films is your favorite and why?

My favorite would be the first one I watched, "The Monster of Phantom Lake." It's got a great classic horror film recipe: a group of teens go into the woods and, unfortunately for them, there is a not-so-friendly monster there. Also, Professor Jackson's techno-babble, of course, and the debut of my fellow "Scandinavian friends," Sven and Gustav.

When you joined the fan club, you chose to join the Monsters faction. Why?

The Monsters faction is where it's at! With "The Monster of Phantom Lake" being my favorite (and the first Mihmiverse film I saw), it's the perfect choice for me!

If you could suggest anything regarding the direction of the future of the Mihmiverse, what would you suggest? What do YOU want to see?

Being a fan of the Universal Monsters, I think it would be cool to see the Mihmiverse include some classic creatures like vampires and werewolves. It would be stellar to see a personal investigator character or a movie which includes some mystery/detective work. I would like to see the Mihmiverse MORE interlinked and include EVEN MORE canon events!

Interested in joining the official fan club of the films of Christopher R. Mihm? Designed as a way for fans to be more involved in the Mihmiverse and the direction it takes, members are entitled to a myriad of benefits including exclusive merchandise, pre-sale access to cool stuff, invitations to members-only events and much, much more! For around $4 a month (less than the price of most cups of coffee), you too can be a part of the fun. PLUS, every member gets a cool membership card, a hand-signed welcome letter and will be enrolled in one of the two fan club "factions," (Monsters or Moon Zombies) which will be important for future team events, games and contests!

Visit the fan club page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm, for more information. Who knows? Maybe next month we'll be interviewing YOU!
