As it usually is during the warm summer months, things have been quiet in the Mihmiverse...or have they? In truth, things are moving like mad behind the scenes!
The Mihmiverse "Merry Band of Magnificent Weirdoes" (writer/director Christopher R. Mihm's affectionate name for those behind-the-scenes folks who make the movies possible) has been hard at work making monsters, producing props, strategizing sets and generally "gettin' it done!"
Principal photography of "X: The Fiend from Beyond Space" (the first half of the next Mihmiverse film, "The Late Night Double Feature") is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 5th.
Did you know you can become a contributor to the new film and get your name in the end credits? Also, in addition to an on-screen credit, everyone who contributes will receive a collectors ticket to the world premiere, a copy of the finished DVD and a cool, personalized certificate celebrating your contribution! Credits can even be given as gifts!
For more information about the contributor program, click HERE and enroll today!

It appears something weird may be happening down at Amazon.com! When writer/director Christopher R. Mihm went to check on the inventory of his films currently sold through the online retailer, he noticed something very curious about the lowest price for a used copy of "Cave Women on Mars"it seems the collector's market is REALLY taking off!
To view it on Amazon.com (before it possibly gets changed), click HERE. OR, in case it's been taken down or altered by the time you get there, click HERE to see a screenshot!

"The Giant Spider" is sweeping across the world and garnering postive review after positive review, putting it on track to become the first Mihmiverse film to give "The Monster of Phantom Lake" a run for its money as the favorite amongst fans!
If you don't already own the film on DVD or Blu-ray (or even if you do!) and want to see the film in a theater, the always-busy fall "screening season" begins early this year. Here are a handful of screening opportunities available over the next couple months:
- On August 1st (9:30PM), "The Giant Spider" screens FOR FREE at the Lake 5 Theatre in Forest Lake, MN during a very special edition of Edwood Grimm's Thursday Night Fright, a bi-monthly event that features classic horror films like 1931's "Dracula," 1956's "Forbidden Planet," and 1958's "The Blob!" Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and a handful of actors will be in attendance!
- Come to a spectacular outdoor screening in downtown St. Paul, MN of "The Giant Spider" (FREE!) on August 8th for Music in Mears, a celebration of Minnesota music, movies, cuisine and beer! The festivities begin at 6:00PM with music and food from local foodtrucks and eateries. Movie starts around 9:00.
- Starting August 9th, "The Giant Spider" joins the B-Movie Road Tour, a summer screening series highlighting the best in B-movies with the distinct purpose of re-igniting America's love with the art form!
- Friday Fright Night presents a special FREE screening of "The Giant Spider" at the Time Community Theater in Oshkosh, WI on August 23rd! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and the first lady of the Mihmiverse, Stephanie Mihm, will be in attendance!
- On September 28th, Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm talks about movie making and the creative process in Edgerton, WI at the Edgerton Sterling North Book Festival, a free day-long event which includes an afternoon screening of "The Giant Spider!"
- The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild presents the Western Wisconsin premiere of "The Giant Spider" on October 12th at the Grand Little Theatre in Eau Claire, WI!
- A years-long tradition continues when the latest Mihmiverse film, "The Giant Spider," screens at the Jack-o-Lantern Jaunt in the home of the real Phantom Lake, Mukwonago, WI! (October 18-19)
- On October 26th, "The Giant Spider" will be screened at a special "second premiere" event at the Historic Palace Theatre in Luverne, MN! Writer/director Christopher R. Mihm will personally present the film and speak about the creation of his latest "new old, good bad" masterpiece! The film will screen again on Halloween night.
Don't live near one of the cities where the films of Christopher R. Mihm are screening? Why not check with an independently-owned theater near you about hosting a Mihm-movie-night event? If you can successfully book a screening of one or more Mihmiverse films in your area, you'll earn a $25 gift certificate to put toward any merchandise featured on the merchandise page at SaintEuphoria.com, the online home of the films of Christopher R. Mihm! Please contact us at info@sainteuphoria.com for more information. Depending on scheduling and distance, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm and a monster or two may even make it to your event!

Presented in full 1080p HD, these movie-only discs include English audio and subtitles, and are produced on-demand using recordable Blu-ray (BD-R) media.
They are now available for $9.99 plus $2.50 shipping and handling for Blu-ray only or $14.99 plus $3.50 shipping and handling for Blu-ray plus DVD. These Blu-ray discs contain ONLY the film, while all DVDs are full retail versions (loaded with special features).

Invisible Invaders (1959)
Directed by Edward L. Cahn Starring John Agar and John Carradine

After a prominent scientist is killed in an atomic explosion, invisible aliens from the moon possess and reanimate his corpse (which was miraculously NOT vaporized in the explosion) and warn the human race to surrender or perish at the cold, dead hands of human zombies inhabited by the "Invisible Invaders!" As the aliens demonstrate their might through shocking acts of (stock footage) violence, a small group of scientists and a dashing Army officer (played by B-movie stalwart John Agar) are tasked with figuring out a way to defeat the seemingly unstoppable invisible threat! Admittedly, the premise is as ridiculous as it sounds and raises quite a few unanswered questionsfor instance, if the invaders are invisible and incredibly powerful, why do they need to reanimate dead bodies to do their bidding? Wouldn't it have been easier to take over by simply remaining invisible? The outlandishness of the premise aside, if you can suspend your disbelief long enough, the film is a nice, jaunty little fright fest. Horror icon John Carradine appears on-screen for less than five minutes BUT, his creepy voice is used for all communications with the aliens, lending a sense of gravitas to their threats. All things considered, this film is worth a late night viewing and is highly recommended!

Since so many fans and supporters have become Mihmiverse contributors, we wanted to take time to highlight some of these wonderful people! Thus, every month between now and the release of "The Late Night Double Feature," we will randomly choose and interview one of them.
This month, we interview Jennifer Perkins, who purchased credits for herself and two other family members!
Introduce yourself to the Mihmiverse!
Hi, I am Jennifer Perkins and I LOVE the Mihmiverse! I am an optician who loves '50s sci-fi films (I even have one of the monster plushies at work!) My mom and sister have also become Mihmivites and we plan to make sure there is a movie every year to enjoy.
When and how did you discover the films of Christopher R. Mihm?
Years ago, my cousin Charlie Horn told me about a Twin Cities guy that was showing one of his film's at a midnight screening and he asked if would I like to go. I did, and the movie turned out to be "The Monster of Phanton Lake!" A couple of years later, I found out the Mihmiverse was alive and well and going to the premieres is now a yearly tradition for the Perkins clan. We dress to the nines and even bring flowers! The group has expanded with friends and movie orders.
Which of the eight released films is your favorite and why?
The current favorite in the family is "The Giant Spider." It has the right amount of laughs (especially the scene that takes place at the drive-in) and scary special effects! (How did they film that spider!?)
You recently became a contributor for "The Late Night Double Feature." Why?
Our family can't wait for the next film to arrive, so we decided to contribute and make sure we continue to be entertained every year. We can't wait until May!

Here is a simple side dish that adds a little pizzazz to boring, old broccoli!
Bravo Broccoli
Ingredients- 1 bunch broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Place broccoli in a steamer basket; place in a large saucepan over 1 in. of water. Bring to a boil; cover and steam for 3-4 minutes or until tender. Transfer to a large bowl.
Combine the remaining ingredients; drizzle over broccoli and gently toss to coat.
Yield: 4 servings (3/4 cup equals 78 calories)
This dish is a wonderful compliment to grilled pork chops or chicken. My family gives it 5 out of 5 "space ships." Enjoy!
You can find this recipe (and many more like it) and its corresponding nutrition information on the Taste of Home website!
