After 20 years of making movies, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm has decided that it is time... to finally make the anthology movie he's been thinking and talking about for years! Every time Mr. Mihm releases a new movie, he ends up going through a period of paranoia, fear, and self-doubt about the future of his movie universe. Then, inspiration hits and he's off-and-running on his next grand cinematic adventureand this year turned out to be no different!
Just one short week after the world premiere of "Three Bad Girls Who Find a Gun and Become Vampires," Mr. Mihm found himself brainstorming and writing script pages for what he intends to be his first film of the third decade of the Mihmiverse: "The Wandering Creature (and Other Tales)!"
In the next great Mihmiverse film, writer/director Christopher R. Mihm takes a stab (pun intended) at an anthology movie in the vein of "Twilight Zone: The Movie," "Trilogy of Terror," and "Creepshow," albeit in his signature retro-B-movie style! In a series of linked, short tales-of-horror, an unmanned spacecraft returning from the asteroid Vesta breaks-up upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere and scatters sample containers across Phantom Lake County! Not-so-unexpectedly (particularly for a Mihmiverse movie), contact with the mysterious, otherworldly contents of these canisters creates a whole host of terrifying creatures like mushroom monsters, killer garden gnomes, and more! Can the local population survive such shocking encounters, or will this be the end of all life in Phantom Lake County!?
As has been reiterated year-after-year, the Mihmiverse is only made possible by contributions from fans like you. And, as this new project is in its beginning stages, now is the time when the Mihmiverse needs contributions the most!
For each $25.00 donation, all contributors will be entitled to having a single name of their choosing listed in the contributors section of the closing credits of the film and a customized, frame-able document certifying their contribution! Credits can even be given as gifts! Imagine the looks on the faces of your loved ones when they find out their names will be immortalized on the silver screen!
A single credit is defined as the name of one (1) person or corporate entity. Any credit requiring the word "and," an ampersand (&), and/or a comma (except when part of a legal company name) will constitute multiple credits and MUST BE paid for separately. Contributors have NO SAY in the decisions or actions taken by anyone involved in the actual production of the film and are NOT entitled to ANY possible future profits earned by the film, derivative works, and/or merchandise created for or featuring elements from the film. Becoming an contributor does not entitle the participant to ANY ownership WHATSOEVER of the finished film or associated elements.
NOTE: Physical media copies of the finished film are NOT included with contributions. If you would like to receive DVDs and/or Blu-Rays of the film when it is released, you MUST pre-order them separately. We reserve the right to refuse any credit we deem inappropriate. All refused credits will be refunded.

It's been almost a month since the 20th Mihmiverse feature, "Three Bad Girls Who Find a Gun and Become Vampires," held its wildly successful world premiere event!
Despite a nasty little snow storm the night before, low temps, and slippery road conditions, a good number of fans still came out to the historic Heights Theater to be the first people anywhere to experience the misadventures of Baby Face, Short Stack, and Queenie Bee as they battled the evil Pastor Goodman and his hired guns. There were laughs aplenty and DVDs & Blu-Rays flew off the racks after the show! It was truly a thrilling night! Everyone was THRILLED!
Check out the photo below of the stars of the film, Jackie Baker (Queenie Bee), Elizabeth Kaiser (Short Stack), and Alice Mihm (Baby Face), taken in their color-coordinated outfits under the Heights marquee!

Under the Sea
This month, we're going undercover/underwater to seek out some serious 1950s cheese to "wet" your appetite.
Below are two lists: Titles & Years and Plot Points. You'll notice that most of these films are similar, which makes this quiz extra difficult. If you can match everything up correctly on the first try, consider yourself an elite member of "Oceans 5."
FILMS:
1. "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (1953)
2. "Monster from the Ocean Floor" (1954)
3. "Phantom from 1,000 Leagues" (1955)
4. "It Came from Beneath the Sea" (1955)
5. "
The Giant Behemoth" (1959)
PLOT POINTS:
A. A seaside community is terrorized by a hideous sea monster, which has been created by experiments in atomic radiation.
B. An atomic test in the Arctic awakens a ferocious dinosaur that terrorizes the Atlantic coast... including new York City. This film was co-written by Ray Bradbury.
C. A young woman spots giant, one-eyed amoeba rising from the ocean, and teams up with a marine biologist to destroy it. Roger Corman produced this film and made a cameo appearance.
D. Atomic tests cause changes in the Atlantic Ocean's ecosystem resulting in dangerous radiation and the reanimation of a giant dinosaur hellbent on destroying London.
E. This one's about a giant radioactive octopus that rises from the Pacific Ocean and attacks San Francisco.

CLASSIC MOVIE OF THE MONTH
The Valley of Gwangi (1969)
Directed by
Jim O'ConnollyStarring
James Franciscus,
Gila Golan and
Richard Carlson
At the beginning of the 20th century, a cowgirl named T.J. hopes an unnaturally tiny horse can bring in enough patrons to save her struggling rodeo/Wild West show in Mexico. Things start to get interesting once an English paleontologist identifies the miniscule equine as an Eohippus, a long extinct ancestor of the modern horse. Though warned against visiting the Forbidden Valley in which it was originally found, T.J. and a posse of cowboys travel to the valley and discover dinosaurs! In a thrillingly shot and edited sequence featuring state-of-the-art (for the period) stop-motion animation by visionary effects master Ray Harryhausen, the band of buckaroos rope an allosaur (which they name Gwangi) and bring it back to the rodeo in the hopes of exhibiting the creature and boosting attendance. If you've ever seen a movie involving over-sized, vicious animals which are captured and put on public display, you have a pretty good idea how the rest of the film goes! The special effects are
VERY impressive (even by today's standards) and demonstrate exactly why Harryhausen is still considered the best stop-motion animator of all time. Overall, a very entertaining film which melds a western with a dinosaur movie, a combination which works surprisingly well! Highly recommended!
